Tennessee-Georgia game set for 3:30

Tennessee's Oct. 11 game at Georgia is set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff and will be broadcast nationally by CBS.

This marks Tennessee's fourth nationally televised game this season. It will be UT's third appearance on CBS's SEC game of the week.

CBS really took a gamble with the SEC this year, and you have to admit, having that many schools in the preseason top 25 is not a bad bet.

Now, if we get are "stuff" together and pull the upset, now that is worth watching. I feel we are setting up the rest of the year to clear the table..............oh, what!..sorry I fell asleep and kept typing :) LoL

Go Vols!!!

beavbullvol writes:

If we look at the schedule objectively, we have two maybe three more games that are locks. We have N. Illinois, Wyoming, and MS. State. After that, does anyone see hope? I certainly don't.

I take that back, by the time we lose our 7th game, basketball season will have started!!

I wonder if we could add the "buy-out" dollars for the UT coaching staff to the 700 billion dollar buy-out plan. Maybe their names are on the list.

We should write our congressmen immediately!

Enough doom and gloomers, the season has been a disappointment, no doubt, but lets not throw in the towel yet.

UCLA - Yes we should have won that game without much of a fight, but we lost in OT when our usually accurate kicker missed from 34.

Florida - better team by far, no shame in losing a game that without a couple of turnovers is much, much closer.

Auburn - Despite how bad our offense is, we were a two point conversion from tying this game.

With a couple of breaks we could be 3-1 instead of 1-3. It sucks to be 1-3, but we are not that far off.

Going into this season we all had hopes that Clawson would bring some magic and we would be able to compete for an SEC Championship again, but reality is that was too much to expect this soon. Give him time!

We have a new offensive coordinator and other new offensive coaches, we have a QB who is obviously over rated, a running back who fumbles at the worst times, and wide receivers who apparantely are not as good as Erik Ainge made them look.

We have a great defense who has played well all season.

We will beat Georgia who is vastly over rated, we will beat NI, SC, Miss St., Vandy, UK, & Wyoming. Bama may get us this year, but who knows on any given Saturday.

Maybe, just maybe, Crompton had to play this badly in order to get someone else in that will play great the rest of the season and set us up for next year. Had we won those games, Crompton would still be starting.

I can see 9-4 or 10-3 with a bowl game, no less than 8 wins, which is pretty good based on how the season has gone so far. It can happen!

Dude, I like your optimism, but you're saying that we're only going to lose to, at most, two of these teams: Northern Illinois, Georgia, Mississippi State, Alabama, South Carolina, Wyoming, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Locks for losses are Georgia and Alabama. If we win the rest of those games, it will take a true miracle to occur at the quarterback position. The sad thing is, that's all we need - an average SEC quarterback, and we're 3-1. The defense has played well enough, except for Florida, and even then, we handed the game to Florida on a fumble, interception, a punt return for a TD, and a long kickoff return to start the game.

Of course, when Georgia beats us like a red-headed stepchild's rented mule, those recruits might think, "Hey, we can play for this bunch."

I was absolutely nauseated during the first half last Saturday. I actually felt better in the 2nd half when I noticed that we had a chance to win, even with someone who is no better than me at QB. Seriously, I've never played QB at a level higher than intramural games, but I think I would do no worse than the 5* Crompton.

You know up till this year the 2005 seson was the worst year on UT record. Now I keep thinking, at least we got 5 wins that year. If we do not change QB's and turn this thing around hope we get 5 win's. If Crompton hadn't run that play Auburn should have been win 2.

kilovol writes:

Guys, I'm done. I have supported Fulmer through everything. It is obvious to me that the game has passed him by. All of the younger more competitive and innovative coaches has his number. I'm on the Will Muschamp bandwagon. He's young and aggressive and has served under several great coaches. I say give him a chance. We have some lean years ahead of us a Tennessee. I say lets go ahead and get on it and get through a rebuild, hopefully with a coach that can take us to the next level. Especially before we have any more recruits ditch us for Stanford. Get on the wagon boys.

Dear rockytopron,

Thanks you for your optimism and belief. You are too kind. Those rose colored glasses I bought for you are working very well.

Unfortunetly, your optimism doesn't change the facts that I am 5-12 versus florida, sub .500 versus top 25 teams, and 1-8 versus top 10 teams at Neyland.

Thanks again for your kind words of encouragment.

Rockytopron is right that we have a chance to win each of the games left on our schedule, although GA and BAMA will be significantly more difficult.

The bummer is that our VOLS have have shown there is a big chance of losing each game left on our schedule. A fumble here, a punt return there, I don't see a single gimme the rest of the year.

Just what I was thinking. He must be having some corn likker. We will come no where close to 8 wins this year. We have already lost 3 games, one of them a nobody, and are all but guaranteed to lose at a minimum of 2 more, but more likely 3 or 4 more
