All that sounds good but has anyone heard they are going to rename Neyland Stadium to Nissan Stadium? Am I behind or is that something new, I just read it on Gate21.net
n2thecheckerboards2 writes:
I havent heard anything about that, but that would be highly doubtful. I would be completely against it if the rumors are true.
madvillevol writes:
Anyone know when they will be showing the game on tv and what channel it will be on?
old_number1 writes:
It was posted elsewhere that it will be tonight at 8:00 eastern on Sports South.
olozbal#646632 writes:
I'm in Portland, is there an online site where I can see the whole game? I doubt it'll be on Tv here.
old_number1 writes:
Dude, are you a duck out of water? HAHA- Probably the first time you ever heard that! If I come across the info, i'll let you know!
old_number1 writes:
I'm breaking my rule, but here goes. You are full of more s**t than a christmas turkey! Your numbers are stupid. Your logic is wrong. Your life is sad. Say good-bye already!
old_number1 writes:
Obviously, I'm not good at following rules. But we know that the football operation needed a new direction. It was the old regime that caused any shortfall. But to make a profit (that goes to the univ.), investment must be made. Sound business decision. So what's your point? I've got more!
AustinTX_Vol writes:
What a sorry loser you are? Your existence in this world is pure pathetic.
old_number1 writes:
Sorry, nav., couldn't resist. I do agree with your assessment though!

Since when is earning $2.2 million less in revenue than projected the same thing as losing $2.5 million dollars?
If I expected to earn $100,000 dollars last year, but only earned $80,000, does that somehow mean I am $20,000 'in the red'?
Do they print UF diplomas on toilet paper, so that they reflect what they are worth? Get a life gatorz. Or, at least get a calculator!
UT is one of the most profitable athletic departments in the NCAA, and is one of only two Div. I athletic departments to receive absolutely no public funding or taxpayer dollars.
Come back and talk to us when your athletic department stops being a tax-leech...
old_number1 writes:
I scolded you for being an idiot! And your last post just proved it! You have no idea what revenue is going to be in the future! You are such a Kid. Fan involvement generates MONEY. Heck, we've even got gator fans following U.T. now. Please for the sake of decency, acknowledge that you understand this.
pventimi#592480 writes:
You posted a link to an article that demonstrated that you don't know how to read, understand numbers or budgetary issues, or come anywhere close to making a coherent point that is based in truth.
But, really, your pretentiousness about something that you are wrong about... it's very entertaining. You're basically being arrogant about being ignorant (at best) or stupid (most likely).
pventimi#592480 writes:
Oh ome on lil-Gator, why aren't you responding to my posts? Here, I'll repost the original for ya:

We didn't run a deficit, we collected less revenue than projected. But you keep on with your gibberish!

Not banking anything on a intramural game. Let's see what they bring this fall in their first game.
old_number1 writes:
Thanks. I wish I had said that (as clearly). Just because you don't generate as much revenue, doesn't mean you're in the red!

Hey, Nav., have you ever had to argue with a wall. That's what I'm feeling right now!

Good info. Concerning the 'lopers, you have to wonder about a guy who sits by his computer ALL DAY waiting for a news story to come out about a team that he doesn't even support. Then he writes some insane drivel that he knows will make him look like an idiot...but yet, he still does it. Very sad.
UrbanStopCallingMe writes:
Whats the old saying? "Never wrestle with a pig, You'll both get dirty and the pig likes it."
These lopers don't care about facts, they just want to get under UT fans skin.
pventimi#592480 writes:
I know. Facts are like the anti-gator... bring em out, and it sends the gators scurrying away.
Like cockroaches when the lights are turned on!

Yeah. Do you think he got the point? Wait, I know, he'll say we are the pig!!! LOL!!!
pventimi#592480 writes:
Re: 1) Again, we did not spend more than we brought in. We ran a surplus, albeit a smaller one than projected. This was already explained.
But, by all means, bring completely irrelevant politics into the conversation! Politics is the art of stupid, so I am sure you will go very far in the field. But, since you brought up Obama: You seem to be towards the word 'deficit' as he is to the word 'change'... You think that if you say it enough, it somehow makes it true.
Re: 2) It's a business, they charge what people are willing to pay (You know, that whole 'supply and demand' thing that you would have learned about at a real school). And people were more than willing to pay, until the product tanked on the field.
Re: 3) What is this even supposed to mean? This is the definition of a straw-man argument! I never said things were 'humming along.' In case you aren't aware, we were 5-7 last year, and fired the coaching staff... So I wasn't under any impression that everything was 'just humming along.'
This was reported because it is news about the UTAD. And this is a UT athletics site. Too complicated for you?
Re: Attempted 'point' 4 (I guess you didn't know the numbers beyond 3, eh?) You are wrong. Only two programs are fully self-funded, one of them is UT, and the other is a PAC-10 school (though I don't remember which). But hey, maybe if you say 'self-funded' over and over again, it'll make it true, right?

I don't do it very often. Heck, I hardly ever post about anything, interlopers or not.
But, sometimes it's just too fun to be able to resist. Like today, lil-gator got owned. And, the best part is, he doesn't even realize it!

old_number1 writes:
If I knew why I got banned, I wouldn't do it again. Someone really got their feelings hurt. Maybe an Obama supporter at KNS? Or maybe the word 'dang' is banned. IDK. The other day, i had the word 'cr@p' changed to phooey!

Just kidding Kappy, but I have noticed an awful lot of inconsistency with what gets removed, and what doesn't. And, I sure hope it isn't true that politically-motivated censoring may occur!
And, for the record: I am an Obama supporter, per quod: He is the president, I want him to do well. I may not have voted for him, but hoping that he fails would be like 'cutting off the nose to spite the face.'
tntoak writes:
gatorz4 - I mean Coach Meyer:
Clearly you never took any sort of accounting class, because your math sucks. You also tried to apply the $2.2m shortfall in football revenue to the athletic budget as a whole. The problem is that you failed to take into account revenues from other sports such as basketball. Unlike the Gators, Tennessee got both its basketball teams into the NCAA Tournament while you were praying for a bid to the craptastic NIT makeup event. That's extra revenue to the athletic department as a whole that you overlook.
You seem to harp on Kiffin's record at Oakland as proof he sucks as a head coach. However, ANY coach would lose at Oakland as long as Al Davis is running that team into the ground. So let's look at Lane's college experience: 8180% plus wining percentage as OC and recruiting coordinator; TWO national championships, a pedigree of quality players coming out of the program. You seem to suffer the same diease that most gator fans have: DENIAL.
Oh by the way, you said that UF doesn't receive any money from the state for athletics. You're flat-out lying. The legislature has repeatedly offered tax breaks for UF in regards to stadium expansion, skybox sales, a special-purpose tax on game weekends in Gainesville, while sneaking in legislation that would increase the cost of graduate school at UF by 15% EACH YEAR. The Florida Legislature is effectively giving the boosters and football program a reacharound while giving the students the shaft.
But that's not unusual for college athletics in Florida. Athletes and boosters first, students and faculty last...
old_number1 writes:
I agree. But let me say this- I hope any president would run the U.S. budget as well as the U.T. athletic budget has been run!

People, look what you allow this clown Gatorz to do...by responding to his posts, you allow him to hijack this board. Granted, he is stupid and imbecilic, but I'm beginning to think that the UT fans who continually respond to him may have issues as well. Maybe I can come up with an incentive based program where everytime he posts and we DON'T respond I'll donate money to some charity or something. There's got to be a way to convince you people to ignore him, as if allowing him to totally disrupt this board isn't enough.

Hahahahahahaha.
Dude, you just prove more and more that you have no idea what you are talking about.
That $80 million is the operating revenue, or gross revenue (total income, prior to expenses. In other words, it is the budget.
They did not generate a net revenue (gross revenue less operating expenses), also known as a profit or surplus, of $80 million dollars.
If Florida projected taking in $80 million in gross revenue, but only actually actually brought in $77.8 million, that would be a revenue shortfall -what happened at UT.
Again, you have no idea what you are talking about. It's quite sad. And, even worse that you just keep on with your gibberish.
Plus, that article does not say anywhere that it is self-funding or receives no public funding! Quite the contrary, it actually proves you wrong!!! A non-profit organization is, by definition, receiving tax incentives and breaks.
You lose! Again! :)
