Robert Ayers participates in a drill during ProDay workouts.
After four years of college football NFL teams are still unsure of who defensive end Robert Ayers is and, even more important, what he will become.
Ayers could be the former University of Tennessee playmaker who last fall enjoyed his best season yet, compiling 49 tackles and three sacks. But he could be a one-year wonder, the letterman that needed nearly three years in Knoxville to make a consistent impact.
Or he could be the teenager who became a man in 2008, realizing natural talent would only take him so far, that he had to work to get better — weight room, classroom, practice field.

It sure does seem like the Tennesseean and Free-Times Press have been posting a lot of decent football stories lately that KNS has been linking to.

You've waited so long to show everone that you too are an idiot, just like the other "1st/First" posters? What a waste of life.
JCVol85 writes:
What is with you people who seem SO offended that someone would post "first" as their comment. I have never posted "first" or anything and never plan to, but it doesn't interest me. It obviously, however, interests these others. So, why do you think that it is your responsibility to deny them of that? Is this website so serious or so important to you that EVERY topic must be on topic? Get real! Besides, you are likely telling some kid, who had some simple fun, that they are "a waste of life." What does that say about you? I have been following this issue since it became an issue with everyone. It seems a great deal of people posted "1st" with no problem for quite awhile. Then, for some reason, someone said that it was stupid and a bunch of people just jumped on the bandwagon. Now, anyone that wants to post "first" is subject to verbal assault. If you ask me, it is you, who have such huge issues with someone posting a simple number, that are the ridiculous ones!

Wow, the waste of life comment for just posting first is a little harsh.

Very good JC.

Don't know why it took Robert so long to mature. Different learning curves for different folks. My GPA improved with age. My 40 time did not.

You know I come on here every day if I get a chance to read about Vols football, and can you imagine my disappointment to find the main topic is the word "first". I see what your trying to say punkin is saying the word "first" is not all it's cracked up to be. Let's start breaking the addiction in baby steps. See how many days we can go without saying it, ok?

It came on here in Knox last night at 8 on CSS, or Comcast Sports South.

It will likely be replayed again on Sports South/CSS if you missed it.

I prefer neither, but would take 1st posters over rude, obnoxious, repetitive, scumbag, fake gator lopers.

I'm 39, thank you very much.

I have to wonder what Robert Ayers thinks when he reads all these comments...so far only like one of them actually addresses him or the article itself. The rest is a comedic cacophony of yew hews yammering on about hoo ha.

JCVol
just wanted you to know that I completely agree with you. I have always thought the same thing, but never took the time to write it all out. Thanks. ( Here's a hint for those who think READING a "first post" is a waste of time, RESPONDING and WRITING a scathing reply about a "first post" is even dumber because it not only waste more of your time, but those of us who have to skim your post and skip it as meaningless as well) Understand??
