Tennessee baseball coach Todd Raleigh has been suspended for one game as a result of violating the SEC Baseball Ejection Policy, commissioner Mike Slive announced Thursday.
The suspension will be served during Tennessee’s game Friday night against Arkansas.
The SEC Baseball Ejection Policy went into effect at the start of the 2009 SEC conference baseball season and states, “A student-athlete, coach or team representative ejected for misconduct or unsportsmanlike conduct for a first offense will receive a written warning cautioning of actions on further like conduct. A second and subsequent ejection in the same year will carry a next game suspension for each ejection.”
The suspension is a result of ejections from contests against Auburn on March 15 and East Tennessee State on April 21.

At least he has fire in him and will stand up for his players in close calls. Like Pearl and getting technicals.

I would love this story if I wasn't afraid that he was getting desperite.

Evidently you are not a fan that keeps close tabs on the program. I won't go into detail because it has been reported before how Delmonico Used our scholarships that put any coach into a bad situatuion. Give Raleigh two more years and this would be the equalivalent of giving a football coach three years. Some people in Dukes administration wanted to fire Coach K. after three years. Boy have those idots had to eat crow since then.

I guess thats better than being suspended for premature ejections.

Dear misguided friend, 1 1/2 scholarships were lost due to new APR rules. Some blame Coach D. Some think that he didn't get the tutoring budget he needed. In any event, he did recruit great talent with players on the national team and national team candidates (much of which is here this year).
There is no lack of talent on this team. The players and especially the pitchers are being erratically used. That is why our Vols can defeat LSU but be dominated by ETSU.
Most unfortunately, we are embarassed by someones tantrums and immature antics on the field. I cant take my kids to a game with this guy. Good coaches know they are role models.

I vote to hire Gary Gilmore of Coastal Carolina! The guy has averaged 40 wins for 20 years.

Not to mention the APR is affected because baseball players almost never graduate they leave after 3 years!!
