Juco forward Dodson signs with Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky has announced another addition to its recruiting class for 2009.

Coach John Calipari said in a statement Friday that Darnell Dodson has signed to play for the Wildcats.

Last season, the 6-foot-7 forward led Miami-Dade Community College to a 26-2 record and the SEC championship. He averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds and was named all-conference first team. Dodson is originally from Greenbelt, Md.

Dodson will have three years of eligibility with the Wildcats.

Kentucky’s signing class now includes Dodson, DeMarcus Cousins, Jon Hood and Daniel Orton.

Are we going to sign a 3rd player with Tyler leaving?

I doubt Tyler is going to the NBA. Too inconsistent with his jumper....he needs to be able to knock down the 10 - 15 foot jumper on a consistent basis to make it to the next level.

I'm just sayin'....

Well I agree, he is NOT ready for the NBA. He has much to work on. Im not sure that we are better if he comes back, but I like to know if we will sign another player if he does leave.

Your're delusional---nobody does less with more than Cal. He couldn't beat Pearl with Dane Bradshaw at PF. He's been king-fish in a lesser conference pond for so long. The SEC regular season is going to generate the angst he only felt at tournament time the last several years, and he will melt. Cannot wait to see this lightweight twice a year.

He's a four star small forward and a pretty good player. They have the number five class without him. He'll move them up and if they land Wall their class will overwhelmingly be ranked #1.

Engrvol you're right. Wall is the key in the ignition. However; Wall might be looking at Duke or Baylor.
