Arkansas loses reserve forward, picks up two signees

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas forward Andre Clark is transferring to another school, basketball coach John Pelphrey said Wednesday.

Pelphrey also announced the addition of two more players to this spring’s class of recruits.

Clark, from North Little Rock, played in 24 games off the bench this year. The 6-foot-9, 218-pound freshman played a total of just over nine minutes, averaging 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

“We appreciate what Andre has done for the Razorback program,” Pelphrey said in a news release. “We wish him the best in the future.”

The release also stated forwards Glenn Bryant and Delvon Johnson had signed letters of intent to play basketball at Arkansas next season.

Bryant is a 6-7, 190-pound freshman small forward from Roseville, Mich., but he prepped at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va. Johnson is a 6-9, 220-pound junior forward from Richton, Ill., who spent this past season at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Bryant averaged 11.3 points as a senior with more than 200 blocked shots.

As a sophomore at Indian Hills, Johnson averaged 6.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots per game on a team that went 33-3. He led the team in rebounding and in blocked shots, and was third with a .570 field-goal percentage (102-179).

Looks like Bryant is a really solid pick-up for them. Arkansas was really young last year - as was the rest of the SEC. The SEC is coming back. There will be a lot of tough teams for the next couple years, at least.
