Former UT basketball player JaJuan Smith arrested in assault

Former University of Tennessee basketball player JaJuan Smith was arrested Monday night on an assault charge, according to Hamilton County officials.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies booked Smith, a former McMinn County High School star, into the jail early Tuesday morning, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

He faces one count of assault and was released from jail on bond, court records show, and is due in court Sept. 15.

JuJuan Smith was a thug. He may have played great D and impacted the game but he was just a different breed than Chris Lofton. I could see that one coming....

What else is new. A vol thug. What a shock.
I'm trying to think of any former Tigers getting in trouble with the law after they leave. No, can't think of any but then again most of them are in the NBA.

Don't be an idiot. Not really anyone "saw this one coming". He was a good guy and kept outta trouble. Just wish him well.

And that thug who was shot in South Memphis was just hanging out and shooting a friendly game of dice. Jeremy Hunt,http://cornellsun.com/node/29581 ,http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns... Saint. Joey Dorsey and Shawn Taggert,http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/... never had a run in with the police. Vincent Askew, http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/.... Shawne Williams, http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?.... Memphis recruits nothing but the most upstanding citizens, and I can Keep going.

Except for:

Shawn Taggert & Jeff Robinson for inciting a riot. How about Joey Dorsy & Hashim Bailey for threatening two women and trying to run over them with a car? How about Kareem Cooper for marijuana possession? Oh, and we didn't forget Andre Allen for soliciting a prostitute or Jeremy Hunt being arrested for beating up his girlfriend did we?

Try again.

Yeah, they just cheat on standardized tests and get their programs put on probation; Real class acts, those Tigers.

Hey, I live in Memphis and can tell you, your list is a very short one. There are fewer "innocents" on the team than there are thugs. Every week there is a problem reported involving members of the BB team (at least under Cal. - new coach seems to be clean at the moment.)

We can only hope. I would pay his bail if that was the case.

I hope this wasn't stemming from something that happen in a Nightclub. If athletes haven't gotten it by now the night club life and sports figures don't mix.

Morristown would be a wonderful place to live...if it wasn't for that poser. He's no Vol fan. Just an immature interloper with nothing better to do than spew venom....like a snake.
