Gamecocks' Geathers suspended after arrest

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier has suspended starting defensive end Clifton Geathers after he was arrested over the weekend.

Columbia police spokesman Brick Lewis said Geathers was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness. Police arrested Geathers early Sunday after the 6-foot-8, 281-pound lineman was involved in a fight outside a nightclub.

Also on Sunday morning, freshman running back Jarvis Giles was involved in dispute with a woman in a dorm lobby where campus police were called. A university spokeswoman said Giles and the woman told officers it was a misunderstanding.

There were no arrests, although police were continuing to investigate.

I agree 100% about Giles.Glad he is not a vol.Seem's like Ole Visor Boy has as much trouble with player's getting arrested as Oscar Meyer Weiner.
