Career of Georgia tight end Ros over

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia tight end Bryce Ros is ending his football career due to a chronic foot condition.

Georgia director of sports medicine Ron Courson says Ros, a redshirt freshman from Kennesaw, suffers from chronic degenerative changes in his right big toe joint.

Ros suffered the injury as a junior at Kennesaw Mountain High School. He had corrective surgery but has continued to have symptoms.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said the school has asked the NCAA for a medical exemption to allow Ros to remain on scholarship.

Ros was the team’s fourth-string tight end.
