Alabama players with flu getting quarantined

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama coaches are taking precautions to keep the flu from spreading around the team.

Coach Nick Saban said nose guard Terrence Cody has missed the last two days and “four or five guys” have been sidelined with the flu or flulike symptoms. He said players with the flu have been quarantined by themselves in dorm rooms to avoid getting others sick.

Most of the ailing players have been able to come back to the field in about three days, according to Saban. The training staff has passed out hand wipes and sanitizers.

Saban said he’s hoping the flu does not become an issue for college football or sports in general this fall.

In football news, he identified the likely starters on the offensive line. From left to right, those are James Carpenter, Mike Johnson, William Vlacchos, Barrett Jones and Drew Davis.

Sounds like the swine flu.

On another note, just saw on Volquest that TE Daniel Adderley may be coming to TN. He had been with the University of Miami. Scout had him rated as a two star WR; but he has since converted to TE. Big guy at 6'6.

This could get ugly as football season (HS, College, and the NFL) starts across the U.S.

I can't blame all of those Miami guys for wanting to come to God's country and get out of the hellhole known as Florida.

we should really remove alabama from the schedule this year to protect our players, perhaps we could replace them with the citadel?

I wonder how many people will attend a game @ Neyland if the flu continues to spread. I tend to think this is going to be a major issue for teams and fans. Players will be quarantined if sick. If a team gets sick during a big-game week, bye-bye "W". This is a very big wild card. You could be the number one team in the country, have your team get the flu, and lose a big game. Think of the impact swine flu will have on lost revenue for cities. If a campus has substantial reported cases, I think attendance will be down. I just wonder how the swine flu will affect the Razorbacks.

Just think how fast the flu would spread on the Florida football team. They might have to ban the players from kissing.

The Razorbacks should be immune, just like the bama cheerleaders.
