Friday's football practice was a low-key, no-contact day for the Vols. Well, as close to no contact as it gets in the Lane Kiffin era. It was the last practice at Haslam Field before game week begins on Monday. The team holds a dress-rehearsal scrimmage Saturday at Neyland Stadium, with emphasis on the kicking game.
Guard Vlad Richard and tight end Jeff Cottam were on the bicycle team. Richard was shaken up in Wednesday's practice. Cody Pope worked with the No.1 O-line in his absence. Don't know what Cottam's situation was since no one is available for interviews on Friday. That meant Luke Stocker got plenty of reps.

I'm interested in watching how the cornerbacks perform. Don't hear much about them and readily don't know much about either Art Evans or Anthony Anderson.

Where have you been if you have not heard much about our corners? It will be our deepest position.

Brent vinson and Prentiss Waggner may not start because of injury, but they were being pushed for their jobs anyway.

Did anyone see the #1 qb in the nation (for '10)Phillip Sims at Oscar Smith HS. in Va.? ESPNU had a game televised today. He's committed to Ala. but this kid is GOOD. It would be nice it Jerod Askew could talk him in to comming here instead. Askew mentioned that he was gonna try, I'm ONE that is behind him all the way. He will have to beat out 4 qb's in front of him at Al. Some pretty good talent, too. He stated that he was interested in playing right away, and Saban said he would give him a shot to play right away. I know with the arm and heady football knowledge he played with today, he's gonna be a good one. As good as Scroggins looked, Phillip Sims looks better. Just a thought! GO VOLS!!
