Brandon Willis may be headed to Miami, not Tennessee

According a report from Palmetto Sports, defensive end Brandon Willis is likely to change his Tennessee commitment to Miami this weekend. The website attributed the report to a source close to Willis’ recruitment. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is scheduled to take an official visit to Miami this weekend.

Willis could not be reached by the News Sentinel for comment.

Willis reportedly said the current investigation into some of UT’s recruiting practices were a factor in his decision to reevaluate his commitment, according to the source.

Willis's teammate, defensive Corey Miller, is still firmly committed to the Vols, as per a conversation Miller’s father, Charles Miller, had with the News Sentinel last week.

Before it gets started, don't get panicky. Recruiting is a long process and, as evidenced by last year, does not end on NSD. Players commit and decommit throughout the entire process. There is plenty of time left.

Our recruiting class will be fine; rest assured there are solid players that will be here in the fall that are not on our commitment list right now.

Hey KNS... how bout you hop on this news first before you report this Willis phooey...

Calling it perfect timing and the perfect place, El Camino Community College (Calif.) quarterback Matt Simms has signed scholarship papers to be a Vol and will join Tennessee in January to compete for the starting quarterback job.

"Everything at Tennessee is perfect for me," Simms said. "It's just perfect timing. I love the tradition of the school and of the program. I love the swagger they have. You can just tell that something great is happening there."

Well, we shall see. Is KNS keeping it's TABLOID mode in high gear?? CLK and the VOLS will be fine. We will lose a few and get a few--it's all a part of the recruiting system. GOVOLS!!

Why didn't KNS report that story instead of the negative story concerning Willis when QB is a much bigger need than D-Line?

Miami was selling him on the idea that Coach O was bolting for another job. All is good. No worries.

This is such a bad report! I read an article that fully explains this. Brandon Willis' dad had his job relocate him to Jacksonville, FL. They were all set on TN even with this "scandal". Brandon explained in the article that he would like to play somewhere that his parents could easily come watch him play. He said he'd be taking an official visit to Miami and he would have a definite resolution shortly afterward.

DB4C is one very weird individual. I suggest we all ingnore his posts from here on. I really for the life of me can not understand why anyone would waste their time on a rival team's site. It absolutely makes no sense. Especially when you are Gator fan and you have had so much success recently. Why are you obsessed with us? DB4C is a UT stalker.

Just read the article about Brandon Willis on Volquest. It absolutely 100% has to do with his father's new job in Miami. They do not want to be too far away from their son because the family wants to see him play. He will be enrolling in January and said he will make his decision after this visit to the Canes this weekend. No big deal here. If his family want him closer then so be it. It won't break us DB4C... By the way DB4C.. what does your screen name stand for.. is it... Doooosssshhhbaggg4cok?

Wow sugar relax.. you didnt tell anyone anything. Get a membership to Volquest and you will see these decommits and possible decommit today with Willis has nothing to do with the bs scandal. Jose Jose was overweight and wanted to play with his 2 other Miami Central buddies at South Florida... Broussard's grades are bad and he needs prep school. Willis' dad got a job in Miami... Relax bud

Agreed.

Let's look at the resume so far:

CLK took a group of men that had not received a lot of development in their prior time at UT and took them to a 10 point loss AT Florida (should have been a blowout), and near win over the then #2 ranked (now #1 ranked) team in the nation (some would say should have won), and a final standing of #2 in the SEC East (some might argue, one of the hardest divisions in any conference). FACT

He turned a lackluster recruiting class into a top 10 in a matter of months. FACT

If CLK and his staff can develop a group of players that have not had high levels of coaching and a bunch of walk-ons and turn them into winners, then imagine what he can do with only a bunch of 3 and 4 star commits! Just imagine what will happen if he gets a few 5-stars!

Why does anyone listen to the interlopers and trolls on here trying to start something? It will all work out in the end...

They gotta' go someplace. Nothing happening in FL -- No SEC Championship, No NC, No Heisman. They're also trying to find space for the 2009 SEC 2nd Place Trophy.

All they have to talk about is the upcoming game against the mighty Cincinnati Bearcats ... UF's 3rd city college opponent this season.

Normally I get annoyed by the grammar police who nitpick typos, but when a guy like Post_In_Waiting uses "except" instead of "accept" in the same sentence he derides the "dumbest fan base in America", I just have to point it out.

Hey Post, while you consult the dictionary for the difference between those two words, also flip over to the "I" section and peek at the word "irony".

I don't think this is going to happen but it's still not great news. The fact that committing to a school doesn't mean anything is partially true. In this case it will really hurt our chances of landing this guy if he is swayed this weekend. Willis is graduating early and plans to enrol in January. We could definitely use this guy over the next 4 years!

Yep, Miami is literally like being in a foreign country, he won't be speaking the same language as they speak at the 7-11, but, the appeal of the beaches and bikini's does sway them. Let's just hope UT's ability to put him in the NFL has greater weight in his decision. .

It's Simms not Sims. Simms was a three star QB on Rivals back in 2007 when he first came out.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football...

They don't rank JuCo players which is why he no longer has a current ranking. If he did it would most likely be 4 stars now that he has more experience under his belt.
