Wide receiver Markeith Ambles from Henry County High in McDonough, Ga., said he’s heard from concerned Tennessee fans that he might be reconsidering his commitment to the Vols.
Ambles said those rumors aren’t true.
“I tell them I’m not going anywhere,” he said.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Ambles said he’ll take an official visit to UT on Jan. 15. He said he might take an official visit elsewhere but hasn’t scheduled any other trips.
Ambles has said he would consider taking trips to other schools since he committed to UT in July.
Ambles said he recently had his first conversation with new UT receivers coach Kippy Brown.
Ambles came away impressed.
“He sounds really intelligent,” Ambles said. “He seems like he knows what he he’s doing. He’s put some guys in the first round of the NFL draft.”

Yeah, I would say that Kippy knows a thing or two about the NFL... funny how a HS WR 'thinks' an NFL and College coach 'knows' a thing or two.
You bet your bippy he know how to get you and any other athlete that signs with UT into the next level. Now come on up here and play your best, listen to the coaches, and THEN act like you know it all AFTER YOU'RE DRAFTED.

What college receiver wouldn't want to play for Coach Kippy Brown? When he says that he is not going anywhere, I take it to mean that he is not going to any place but Tennessee, the former and future Wide Receiver U.

The Guy knows his stuff, On top of that he is connected, If he has a player he thinks the NFL should look at, he will make that happen, If he sees a player with talent he will develop it. And he teaches fundamentals !!!

wikipedia Kippy Brown and you will be impressed. Looks like he has coached running backs as much, if not more, than WR. Great hire coach Kiff!!!

I don't know about ya'll, but I like the second part of Coach Kippy's title: Passing game coordinator. I can only imagine what the effect will be with the QB and WR's on the same page. Throw in an awesome backfield and a couple of quality TE's and you have 3/4's of a great offensive team.
So, for my Christmas wish, I would like to see a #1 recruiting class for the big uglies.
I don't waste any time thinking about the defense. Having Monte Kiffen is all I need to know.
Oh yeah, rumor has it that CLK is looking to hire a well respected special teams coach from the NFL. If we fix the ST and OL situations, we could be awesome next year.
Go VOLS!!!!!
p.s. I don't believe we'll have a bad QB situation, not after the results from staying with JC.

Kippy is on the same level as CMK when it comes to a major hire. He does so well with WR's.
My biggest concern for next year is at the little noticed but often overlooked position of Place Kicker, Kick Off and Punter. I truly hope Palardy, (sic?), is all he is suppose to be.
Countless times this year we they went three and out, we went three and out and they picked up 20 plus yards in the exchange. They call it football for a reason, what a kicker can do has always changed a game faster than anything else, or what the kicker failed to do.
On kick-offs you have to have a kicker that can put the ball in the endzone everytime, everytime! And when faced with great return folks out of the endzone.
A Punter must be able to consistently hit 45 plus yards with a 4.5 to 5.5 hang time, and be able to place it where the weak link in the return team is. A weak Punter kills the Defense.
PATs should be automatic, if the Kicker/Lincoln can't get the ballup, back the Kicking Unit out another five yards and develope a long snapper. A PAT should never be missed at the level the Vols play at.
WE have far better kicker's on the Lady Vol Soccer Team. And I really mean that, watch them sometime!
LadyVolsEighTimes writes:
Sry, just have some frustrations on the kicking game. HUbby has got as great la8ugh on my statements, he said;
Make sure the Holder can throw the Fade, make sure the Place Kicker can throw the ball into the back corner of the End Zone. Make Sure the punter can run a Sweep Option, and can hit a gunner as soon as he cuts to the middle, or can pitch to a blocking back on the option. Make sure that your tandum blocking backs on Punts can take a direct snap and throw a decent block, or even be able to throw a five yard square-out on a rope to the Side Line/right at the first down marker.
For anyone that doesn't think the kicking game is crucial,,Bama would probably not be going to the BCS Championship game if Tennessee had a decent day in the kicking game against them. Nebraska would have most probably been able to hold on and beat Texas if the Kickoff after their last score had managed to stay in-bounds! It damn sure would have made it much more difficult if they had had to start on their 20 yard line.
2009 Tennessee/Bama game was decided by place kickers, Bama got everyone of their points on the "Toe", Vols had two field goals blocked.

Agreed. The higher-profile recruits want to play for top-notch programs with top-notch coaches. Kippy makes a great staff even better.
BigDave486 writes:
Soooo, CKB knows "a thing" or two about football; son Coach Brown was coaching in major college football (UT) and the pros before you were ever brought into this world! I would strongly suggest that you come to UT and be coached by the best WR/RB coach at any level and if you listen and follow CKB's instructions you may just end up at the next level.
