missinformed bantor...nothing more. At least he has a pulse.

I am glad he is stirring the pot! It's been a long time and UT has been the butt of a lot of comments from other SEC teams for some time. The football game next season at Florida, UT is not supposed to win anyways. But if for some strange reason we do, we will be singing Rocky Top all night!

musicjl#606296 writes:

I'm sorry, this has been blown way out of proportion. IT's bad enough the other media is reporting it, but our own media needs to stop beating this dead subject into the ground. Don't they have something more important to report on? Like, say, speculation of what our jerseys are going to look like next year?(haha) I'm glad that Kiffin is fired up. His passion (and that of the entire staff) will carry over to the team on the field. I'm just tired of hearing this issue debated and argued to death.....

No big deal.

VOLFORLIFE writes:

Even though I don't think he should be calling out other coaches about cheating when he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, jacking Urban Myth up doesn't concern me as much as what he said about the people at Pahokee in the recruitment and signing of Richardson. There was a crawl across the bottom of the screen a few minutes ago during the Lady Vols game that said he had apologized to the city of Pahokee, the school and the coach for the comments he made. Personally, I think that's appropriate.

cpahiker#231287 writes:

not a big deal but when urban runs up the score on him he'll understand the point of delivering first and then talking

tractoronthepole writes:

Well it appears all the writers were off today. One copied article from the Commercial Appeal, and one negative question posted by someone who must have said hey we wrote nothing today better come up with a question.

JoRob525 writes:

With the speed the Vols will have on Defense next Season, And a Coaching Staff with a Attitude, It migh not be so easy to "Run It Up" on em. I doubt that the Team will be playing with no emotion as has been the resent past. I know on thing for sure the Offense can't be any worse than last year. That was sad. So I say Gofor it Coach Kif tell em how you really feel. LOL

Coolidge would not have done this.
Go Kiffin.

volsfan74 writes:

The only people complaining are gator and bama fans, since when did we give a d*** what they think. What Kiffin did was a nothing more than a pep rally for VOLS Fans, and the Gators and Slimey Slive have to act like he went on national t.v. and blasted Meyers. Meyers and Foley just gave me one more reason to hate the gators (like I needed another one).

rusty_shackleford writes:

There was a whole lot less media uproar when little stevie superior accused CLK of cheating. Why the double standard?

Corporate media is dead. They have no clue how to reinvent themselves as customers leave the printed page in droves, so they become little more than People Magazine or E!TV.

txvolsfan writes:

It's nice to have a coach with some large stones and not a coach that is a cry baby and has to hide behind their AD.
In the end though, Talk is cheap and I think he will start backing it up on the field. The team will have the same screw you attitude!!!

tvol71 writes:

Frankly, there should be a rule against calling a player who is visiting another team. The NCAA/SEC has screwed up on this one.

Nuthinbutorange writes:

Everyone in Flar-duh seems to have their drawers in a terrible knot about what poor lil 'ol Coach Kiffin has to say about them, which leads me to wonder why they care. Since they are clearly the greatest thing since sliced bread, and already appointed by the Almighty to win a (gasp!) third national championship in the coming season, does it really matter to them what a Tennessee coach believes or says? SignalMtn Vol called it right: let's be Tennessee and warm up the butt-kicker. Utah exposed Alabama for the frauds they are in the Sugar Bowl. That should serve as an inspiration to this Tennessee team this year in the Swamp. Let's give them a home game to remember. Way to go, Lane.

haha. thank you Fooley Tennessee is now the headline WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO Thank you.......

i think our new coach has some brass but why mess things up with the high school that richardson came from. That is the one that upsets me maybe just maybe we could have got someone else from there like maybe one of richardsons friends. And i still want to know what the truth is behind coach o and MBrown.im not like other fans thrilled about coach O we as vol fans laughed at ole miss when they had coach O so why change that.the guy is still unstable. All i can say i hope this coaching staff can win and win alot.Because all the fans lovin him now will soon turn to hate and bad mouthing him like some have turned on the best thing since ray mears BRuce pearle he is a great and i mean great bball coach this bball team needs to learn the press if we was pressing like we have the last 3 years we win atleast 4 more games by now gaurantee it.

Big deal win games then talk smack, You got to call ur little daddy to help u on Defense.... Lame Kiffin sucks he wont last u need John Gruden really.

leedsvol2007 writes:

Florida's sensitivity to accusations of recruiting violations stems from the problems they had in the 80's when Charlie Pell and later Gaylon Hall were the coaches there. In '85 had they not been on probation they would have been conference champs.

Like them or not Spurrier and Foley put an end to their NCAA issues. This is probably why Foley reacted so strongly to the comments.

And to my knowledge Meyer has completely followed suit.

In Kiffin's defense I think he got carried away in a pep rally atmosphere and went a little overboard.

He has apologized and it really hasn't harmed anyone so its probably time to just let it drop.

But you have to like his confidence and aggressive attitude.

GoVols!

Dan Patrick at SI blocked the following blog: "For what it's worth, the only constituency affecting the current and future disposition of Tennessee's head football coach Lane Kiffin is the administration, fan base and media connected to the University of Tennessee. This entire constituency is solidly behind Coach Kiffin, so boo hoo to you all. Terrible young coach spoke a boo boo! 'Truth be told, Urban Meyer is smart enough to perceive the ominous ramifications for his need to hoard talent, based upon the imposing reality of UT's new recruiting machine. He's got competition enough from Miami and FSU. He's just crying again. Who actually thinks his feelings were hurt? Has he been DAMAGED? You'll all get over these projected butt-whoopins and early firing just as soon as ol' Urb traipses off to his dream job at Notre Dame. As for us UT fans: We're behind you all the way, Coach Kiff!"
