Tennessee's men and women take top-10 national rankings into the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships that start Wednesday at Auburn.
The UT men are ranked No. 4, the first time since 2001 they head into an SEC meet as the top-ranked team.
Auburn is close behind at No. 4, followed by Florida at No. 6 and Georgia at No. 8.
John Trembley's Vols have 18 times that rank among the top five in the SEC. Only Auburn has more, at 31.
Jonas Persson and Nolan Morell each have top times in two events.
The Lady Vols are ranked No. 7, but that only places them fourth in the conference behind No. 1 Georgia, No. 5 Florida and No. 6 Auburn.
Coach Matt Kredich has four prime threats to take individual titles in Jame Saffer, Alex Barsanti, Michele King and Aleksa Akerfelds.
The meet continues through Saturday at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

what does that mean? "John Trembley's Vols have 18 times that rank among the top five in the SEC. Only Auburn has more, at 31." Do they send out the junior varsity to cover swimming?

By the way, I understand that the Vols have 18 seperate swim times(amongst the team) which rank in the top five within the SEC. However, it appears that it was written so hurriedly that the comprehension by the average reader was not considered. I guess...your average swim fan reader would get it. That still doesn't make it good reporting or writing.
