Tennessee senior Nick Panezich set a UT indoor school record with a throw of 63 feet, 1.25 inches in winning the shot put at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.
The throw was a lifetime best for Panezich and passes the NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
“I’ve been fortunate to have the type of season I’m having, Panezich said. “I’m excited for my progress and I feel good about what I can do at the SEC and NCAA meets.”
Joseph Berry was second in the pole vault with a jump of 16-9. Emerson Peacock was third in the 800 run at 1:52.93. Tennessee finished second in the 4x400 relay behind St. Augustines.
