It's not the season that needs to play. It's the team.

Wonder how the results of this poll would match up against what I recall as a similar one before the season started. Probably reversed. Everybody was hopeful then, hopeless now.

What a sports year! I'm afraid to predict anything.

I think everyone has already come to terms with the season being a loss and have already moved on!
The Lady Vols played pretty well today however!

OH you poor souls in Big Orange Country. The sad thing about this quandry your team finds it self in is that they have very hard games ahead.SDorry the season did not turn out the way you had thought it would.WELL THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR.

I'd say turn down the NIT. The players don't deserve it. It will do NOTHING for the problems we have...
I will say this:
the close losses (aub, lsu, memphis, gonzaga)...add those in, and we have 20 wins and look pretty damn good.
However, the reality is we have some horrible national losses: Memphis (memphis knid of sucks, they'll be gone quickly if they get a tuugh bracket), Kansas, Texas, and both UK games where all humiliating losses. I look for us to get smoked by USC and UF, maybe even Miss State.
Bruce will say 'rpi, SOS, look at who we played' but I think the selecion committe will look at HOW we played.
Sorry Bruce, maybe the season DID hinge on Daniel West.

lil' zzgatorboy, where do you find this trash? So, you take a second rate article written by a second rate dork who is an avowed Alabama fan, and that's the kind of junk you feed on?
Clearly this bleacherreport.com site is a high quality news source. I mean really, they even printed the guys pic backwards ... unless the school he supports is spelled A-M-A-B-A-L-A. Amateurs!
He uses an unnamed source on an unidentified trip posted on some teenage-social blog (and kids like that never exaggerate or flaunt their own importance) and actually publishes it ... and you eat it up! You are a true bottom feeder when it comes to digging this junk up! Maybe we should just start calling you "catfish?"
If you look at the edit history on the article, the dude obviously made several edits after posting. Perhaps his attorney is smarter than he is!
You have a nice day ... and

All the bleacherreport 'articles' and elementary-like misspelling of Lane Kiffins name aside, as long as he wins and doesn't cry at press conferences like a certain SEC East coach is known for, I am very happy with who is leading our Tennessee Volunteers! And the winning - yea, think we will be just fine in that department.
As far as the basketvols go, I think we will go to the NCAA tourney, but it is hard to see us getting past the second round unless they just really flip the switch and get it going. Everywhere I have read (ESPN, scout.com, etc) seems to have us as a lock for the NCAA tourney, I guess that is true as long as we don't lose the majority of our remaining games.
Slystone writes:
Lose the South Carolina and Florida games and it will take winning the SEC tourney to get into the NCAA tourney. This team lacks intensity and sense of urgency. It's mid Feb and they haven't consistently shown it all year. That magical switch everyone is waiting on them to flip is not in reach. Chemistry on this team is not right. When they were down in the Kentucky game early by nearly 15 point Pearl should have called a time out and stooge slapped the entire starting five. Wildcats came to play the and the Vols acted like there was no need to worry. Sorry display for a team many ranked so high preseason.
Slystone writes:
Can you imagine the 08-09 season of no bowl, no NCAA, no NIT, wow!

I thought that is why they invented baseball? That could be the only thing to explain why the baseball season lasts so dang long!

Agreed. With all the Big East and ACC teams that will get bids this year, this may be the toughest 2nd round the NCAA tourney has ever had. The Sweet 16 should be something special ...

WD,
Two of the HS guards that they brought into the RTL, one shooter and one pure point dish assist and defend guy, will both qualify for academic scholarships.... they are both out there and both still unsigned or uncommitted. Other schools have picked up on the fact that they can pick up guards without burning an athletic scholarship..... they are being worked hard from that angle. What doe the witch doctor say should Bruce make those phone calls????

Over 500 and should be a lock.
But I'm just not sure if I'll be able to get very excited about that first round 7th seed.
And yea I know. Our recent history has spoiled me greatly.
