No. 3 Auburn first celebrated survival, and then the title.
DeWanna Bonner scored 22 points and the Tigers made nine of 10 free throws over the final 44 seconds to beat Georgia 65-59 on Sunday and clinch at least a share of their first SEC championship in 20 years.
The Tigers (26-2, 11-2 SEC) were coming off a 73-70 defeat at Vandy, who lost Sunday at Ole Miss.
"It's something we worked for all year. It was our goal," Bonner said. "You can see how happy we were when we found out Vanderbilt lost - no offense to Vanderbilt."
Auburn can win the title outright with a win next Sunday against Arkansas or a Vandy loss at Tennessee.
The Lady Bulldogs (15-12, 5-7), who handed Auburn its first loss nearly a month ago, lost their fifth consecutive game, although coach Andy Landers' team flirted with completing an improbable sweep.
"I think that he had them really ready and fired up to play," Auburn coach Nell Fortner said.
Whitney Boddie had eight points, nine assists and six rebounds for Auburn.
Angel Robinson led Georgia with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Ole Miss 71, Vanderbilt 69: Kayla Melson scored with six seconds left, and a game-tying shot by Jence Rhoads was negated, preserving the Rebels' stunning win over the No. 18 Commodores in Oxford, Miss.
Melson's layup was her only basket and gave the Rebels (16-12, 5-8 SEC) a two-point lead. But Rhoads, who finished with 13 points, made a two-point basket as the buzzer sounded. Video replay confirmed the ball left her hands after time expired.
Bianca Thomas led the Rebels with 25 points.
Christina Wirth paced the Commodores (21-7, 10-3) with 20 points.
Florida 82, South Carolina 66: Sha Brooks scored 24 points, Marshae Dotson added 18 and the No. 15 Gators (23-5, 9-4 SEC) snapped a three-game losing skid against the visiting Gamecocks (10-15, 2-10).
Brooks was 5-of-7 from 3-point range and had six rebounds and eight assists.
Lakeisha Sutton finished with 17 points for South Carolina.
Arkansas 74, Alabama 69: Lindsey Harris scored 15 points and Charity Ford 14 as the Razorbacks (17-11, 6-7 SEC) defeated the visiting Crimson Tide (13-15, 1-12).
Varisia Raffington scored 19 points for Alabama.
LSU 57, Kentucky 56: Allison Hightower scored 20 points and blocked a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds as the Lady Tigers (15-9, 8-4 SEC) held off the visiting Lady Wildcats (14-13, 4-8) for their third consecutive win.
Victoria Dunlap of Kentucky had 21 points and 15 rebounds.
