The Tennessee men’s golf team finished on the upbeat at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The Vols shot 291, 20 strokes better than their Monday round, to jump from eighth to fifth in the final scores.
Tennessee has finished in the top five in five of six events this season.
The Vols placed three golfers in the top 20 individually: Chris Paisley, ninth at 221; Darren Renwick, 13th at 225, and Robin Wingardh, 17th at 226.
LSU won at 885 over a field that included six teams ranked in the Top 25. The Vols were at 901.
