OXFORD, Miss. — Mississippi coach Houston Nutt has dismissed Justin Sanders and James Scott from the football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Sanders, a defensive tackle from New Market, Ala., did not play in his two seasons with the Rebels.
Scott, a transfer from Ohio State last September, never played either after sitting out last season because of NCAA rules. The Daytona Beach, Fla., player appeared in nine games for the Buckeyes in 2007, recording six tackles.

They still have a ways to go.

Yea, didn't they sign like half a team in this class?
So, "Scott never played AFTER sitting out last season because of rules"? Most people don't play after the season, do they? And what position did he play? It said what the other guy played...

big deal he boots two guys who never played. They probably got in trouble with two starters too, but nutt did not have the nerve to boot them too, lol

well said.

Looks like Nutt gutted his defense dismissing these two stars.

Good to see a coach enforce the rules. It also sends a message to the rest of the team. So far (knock on wood), LK hasn't had any players get in trouble with John Law. Probably too tired to get into trouble. Works for me.

Dvh, you bring up a good point, work 'em out, keep 'em busy. No idle hands here. Go Vols!!!

Wonder if these two could play for Kiffin; we need D/T's...just saying !!

True, that deadwood had been stacked for awhile.
I think he only needs 21 more slots for that herd he signed.

Dismissing two guys who probably wouldn't have ever taken the field anyway-- Nutt is a true disciplinarian from the same mold as Mark Richt and urban meyer. (And Phil Fulmer, for that matter.)

The Warden at Florida may be contacting these two at any moment...

Now that's funny!
Nobody can accuse ole Houston of not making the tough decisions.

I can tell you the answer to that. All you have to do is check his track record at Arkansas. Cedric Cobbs and Ken Hamlin are grateful that they were All SEC picks. Otherwise, they would have suffered the same fate as these two bench warmers. Selective punishment? You bet.
