Tennessee's campus will be abuzz with football prospects on Saturday.
Approximately 100 high school juniors are expected to be in attendance for UT's junior day.
James Stone will be one of the headliners for the 2010 signing class. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman from Maplewood High School in Nashville is considered a top priority for UT.
Stone is one of the top prospects in the state and offensive linemen are a top priority for UT. The Vols will likely start four senior offensive linemen this fall, meaning there are plenty of positions up for grabs in the coming years.
Catholic offensive lineman Zak Tait is also scheduled to attend UT's camp. The 6-4, 310-pounder sat out last season after suffering a serious knee injury in 2008. Tait said he has made a complete recovery.
"It's great," Tait said of his knee. "I'm 100 percent."
Tait has one scholarship offer from Colorado and thinks he's close to offers from Stanford, Oregon and Georgia Tech. Tait said he has received letters from UT but has had limited contact with the Vols.
"I guess we'll see what happens with that," he said.
UT is also expecting its first commitment for 2010 to be in attendance for Saturday's camp: defensive end Jacques Smith from Ooltewah. The 6-3, 225-pounder committed to UT on Feb. 4.
Butler Do It?: The NCAA is investigating Brian Butler, the former rapper and cell phone call-center manager who has been handling tailback Bryce Brown's recruitment, according to the New York Times.
Brown is considering a number of schools, including UT. Butler has been posting reports on Butler's recruitment on his Web site potentialplayers.com and describes himself as a trainer and advisor to Brown.
"They'd be more than welcome to talk to me if they needed to, because we've kept everything 100 percent legit," Butler told the Times.
Butler drew criticism for charging a fee for recruiting updates on the Web site. He has since offered the updates for free but acted as a buffer between coaches and media wanting to speak to Brown. This month, Butler told the News Sentinel that he would inform Brown of the Sentinel's request to interview him but doubted the top-rated running back from Wichita, Kan., would grant an interview.
According to the Times, Kansas State coach Ron Prince discouraged school boosters from donating to Butler's non-profit organizations to Butler's displeasure. Such donations could be considered a payment to secure Brown's services.

Where is Wichita, Jan., Mr. Hooker?
Anyway, I have to wonder about Tait being 100%. Serious knee injuries are rarely ever fully healed. I speak from personal experience....
GreenDevilVol writes:
I agree IP,but Jeffery has been doing well on his.Said it never felt better and was ahead of rehab.
TommyJack writes:
The 'ell is Jan??
gohawks1 writes:
Do you mean Zak? Sounds great, and certainly he should know better than anyone how he feels. However, sometimes rehabing with PT, weights, etc. is not the same as putting on the pads and taking some hits. I wish him the best, though. Sometimes working through a bad injury can make you stronger.

I think it's in Feb. county, right next to the state of March.

Actually, this Butler guy is pretty smart. Have a training camp, give advice to the recruits, develop relationships, then, when the kids get to be seniors, be their sports agent.
Rappers sometimes have a bad rep, but no one can accuse this guy of being bad businessman.

Agree. What Sly said.....
hotrodvol writes:
UT needs at least two QBs, five OL, five DL, two tall WRs, a top notch RB, and a TE. That's my take, does it sound about right? Does anyone know how many scollys will be availible next year? CLK could help us out a lot if we get Brown/Oku and Charles.
