X-rays negative after Baugh injures knee

SOMERSET, N.J. - Tennessee women's basketball forward Vicki Baugh went down with a left knee injury during a Thursday practice at Rutgers Prep School.

X-rays taken were negative.

The initial prognosis by Jenny Moshak, the Lady Vols associate athletic director for sports medicine, is that Baugh suffered a sprain of the lateral collateral ligament.

Indications are that her surgically repaired anterior cruciate ligament is OK. Baugh's status is day to day. Her availability for Saturday's game against Rutgers, though, is in jeopardy.

Vicki has been getting better each game. I hope we will get to see her reach her potential. Knee injuries seem to be particularly difficult for the ladies. We've never seen the real Alex, and it appears we will never see the real Cait. Come on, Vicki, our prayers are with you.

Dang, dang, dang, will we ever get strong enough? Don't you wonder why this keeps happening? Is it the way we practice, train, whatever? Is it just plain old bad karma? Why do we always have players going down with injury???????

How about some body armor? Can we get some help here?
