The Tennessee softball team was picked by the SEC’s 11 coaches to finish second in the Eastern Division.
Florida (10 points) was picked to win the Eastern Division, followed by UT (19), Georgia (30), South Carolina (36) and Kentucky (45). Vanderbilt does not field a team.
Alabama (10 points) was selected to repeat its Western Division title, finishing ahead of LSU (11), Mississippi State (30), Auburn (35), Arkansas (49) and Ole Miss (50).
The Lady Vols, ranked No. 12 in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 on Tuesday, begin their season Feb. 5-7 at the BYU Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah. UT will play Northern Colorado in its first game.
