STARKVILLE, Miss. — Dan Mullen has lured another Southern Miss assistant coach to his staff at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs’ new coach announced Wednesday that Tony Hughes is joining his staff. Mullen also hired Frank Wilson away from Larry Fedora’s staff in December, but Wilson has since left to join Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.
Hughes, like Wilson, is known for his recruiting abilities. He helped former coach Ed Orgeron assemble strong classes at Ole Miss, then helped push Southern Miss to its first top 50 recruiting effort last season.
Hughes, born in Forest, has spent 25 years coaching in his home state with stops at Hinds Community College and two high schools. He also spent two seasons at West Alabama.

Don't worry Mullen, Kiffin doesn't want/need this guy. He is all yours!

I dont think that anyone can ever really make Miss St a top team. They just will never be able to pull in the recruits. So, this means nothing!

Anyone that has ever been to Starkville knows there is nothing to do there. A hot date in Starkville is pulling the tits of a dairy cow...not too exciting!

With the right amount of money, any recruit would go there. Just ask CJS.
