FAYETEVILLE, Ark. - Shekinna Stricklen will draw a crowd tonight for Tennessee's game at Arkansas.
The Lady Vols freshman guard said that two buses full of people are coming from her hometown of Morrilton, Ark. And that's just for family members and people from her father's business.
"Fifty teachers are coming from the school,'' she said. "A lot of the students are coming. They might still have school there Friday. I'm not sure."
Stricklen will have to guard against being distracted, which might have been the case when family members attended UT's game at Vanderbilt on Jan. 11.
"I'm going to be a team player,'' Stricklen said. "It's not about me being able to try to show out in front of my family or the fans. It's about this team."
Scouting Report: Guard-oriented Arkansas will attack the basket against UT. If they're not trying to score at the rim, the Razorbacks will be setting up for 3-point shots. They've attempted 410 treys and shoot 30 percent from long range.
"They're very capable 3-point shooters," said Auburn coach Nell Fortner, who's undefeated Tigers held off Arkansas 70-61 last Sunday.
Ticket Info: UT is offering a $60 ticket package for selected games that includes four reserved tickets and four Texas Roadhouse entrees. The package is available for the following games: Mississippi (Jan. 29), Georgia (Feb. 5), Duke (Feb. 16), Mississippi State (Feb. 22) and Vanderbilt (March 1).

Pammy you are absolutely right. I love Double S's game.
Lady Vols will play for a National Championship NEXT year. Sorry, we are playing better but not a complete unit yet.

You are correct, Witch Doctor, you DO rock! Love your posts, man. You definitely march to the beat of a different (tribal) drummer. Too bad about the chickens, though....

Hey while you're at it , which doctor, how about keeping the gas prices where they are now. Your Buddy Bo, the bad boy from Chicago, is thinking about rescinding orders to begin drilling off the coast(west and east and Alaska), and to stop Continental plans to drill. This pigeon for a president wants our gas prices to go up. This guy is definitely NO economist! So work your magic! Remember how many 1 900 or 1 800 dion warwick lines were open after 9 11? YOu know psyic hotline! Right, ZERO!

If you people are such fans, please stay on the subject !
Stricklen is showing us her potential this year and will have a great career as a Lady Vol. I am thankful she came to play for Coach Summitt.

Agreed LadyVolFan. "Bones" was cute..........the first time. Now it's just childishly immature.

I sure would hate to see this site become just another meaningless string of dribble. There are too many of those out there now. Could we please maintain the integrity of this site and use it for the purpose of discussing Lady Vols basketball?
This is a big day for Stricklen. I would love to see her go off on the Razorbacks tonight with the best game of her college career.
Good news of Cain is music to my ears today. It would be such a 'shot in the arm' for her to have a productive, somewhat pain-free outing as she works her way back into the Baby Vol rotation. I'm sure there's a certain psychological hump to get over as well as working her reps in rehab.
As for Baugh, I wish, I wish she could find a way to get in the game. To me, she is the key factor to the team being able to maintain a steady maturation process thru the season, into league tourney time and on to post season.
It's Glory hallelujah time too. We need a solid performance from our big wing. The speed of that child is incredible. Some breakaways from Glory, an on-target pass, catch and score frenzy will take the wind out of an opponent's sails in a hurry. Bring it, Glory! Let's get the hogs.

Since we are wishing, I wish for Angie to start "lighting it up" again. We need to somehow get her more open shots (but in the mean time, she is doing a great job of dishing to the open player and playing defense).

Hmmmmmm, let me ponder the inate wisdom of this BS tirade for a moment. Let's see, "Bad boy from Chicago", and this "guy is NO economist" are racist comments?????

I would like to make a shout out to the site master to put a stop to this off-topic nonsense. These are NOT Lady Vol Basketball worthy comments. Most posters are not interested in this personal clutter.
Since some of our pugnacious and pretentious posters get off on sharing addresses, dare we point them in the direction of the hard-core political threads where they will be properly devoured and deposited into their own partisan food chain.
LVFF, I think Bj has to get better at finding, utilizing and coming off screens to get her shots off. Of course a lot of that is dependant upon her teammates setting good screens for her. I think that might be one area in which we could really improve overall. There have been several crucial penalties for illegal pics which have put us in precarious situations at times. Setting a good screen has become a lost art, IMO. I want to smack myself for saying this, but that is one thing that UConn does exceptionally well.
You are right about the fine job Angie is doing in other areas of getting her teammates involved, especially the 5 assists, 5 boards, the block and the steal she scored against South Carolina. But 7 points is just not going to get the job done. She needs to be scoring in the 20s consistently. Perhaps she will begin to light up the nets with her beautiful treys tonight. We will need that against Auburn, no doubt.
