Revis notices new staff 'seems to be more intense'

Tennessee commitment Kevin Revis made his highly anticipated official visit to Knoxville this weekend. It was well worth the wait.

“It was a great visit, getting to know all the coaches and getting to know how they coach with so much intensity and how they are so devoted to the players and getting us better and prepared,” the 6-foot-3, 265-pound offensive lineman from Rhea County High School said on Sunday.

Revis committed to UT in June, long before coach Phillip Fulmer was ousted and replaced by Lane Kiffin. Revis said he appreciates UT’s decision to honor all commitments.

“It shows how much coach Kiffin trusts coach Fulmer and Fulmer’s staff,” Revis said. “It does show that he (Kiffin) realizes that all of us are committed, we’re here to play and get better and go to work.”

Revis said he also noticed a difference between UT’s old and new leadership.

“This staff seems to be more intense,” Revis said.

People wonder if their will be as much passion for UT as their were with Phils staff since half these guys are from the NFL.
Weve got a staff with the passion of winning, something our other staff lacked somewhat.

I hope you're correct about next week, but next year for sure. I think there will be some pleasant surprises, however.

I really don't think much of this kid as a football player in the SEC but whatever... I guess we have to honor the scholarship.

Welcome back Johnny. I supported you when you were coach. You can put the bottle down because Fulmer is gone now.

I agree Fulmer wanted to win but not intense.

Kiffin wears his emotions on his sleeve during practice and in a game. Not saying you must go ape s.... on the sideline but football is an emotional game. Fulmer would kinda jump up and down from time to time and pat someone on rear or helmet.
There were times this year he should've really drilled into some of his players.

This kid is going to surprise some folks. He is ready to be bulked up and coached up, and this staff can do it! Attitude counts for a bunch! Good to have you as a Vol, young man.

Totally Agree, great to have a hardnosed kid from Rhea county
GO VOLS

A kid that has his size and potential for growth and has a passion for Tennessee football is a young man we want. Mistakes have been made in the past and some will continue to be made going forward but give me the ones that will take pride in wearing the Orange.

The strength coach can put 35 to 40 pounds on a 18 year old kid in a year. That puts him at 300lbs and that's just right. These 365 pounders are too fat and slow to lead sweeps or fire out on a linebacker.
