Ya know for those people saying this team doesn't deserve a bid to the tournament, please tell me one bad loss we have? We have 2 wins vs Top 25 teams (BIG EAST). We have lost to Gonzaga (2x's) and they'll win their conference, we lost to Kentucky who is good and will make the tourney, lost to Memphis who is in the Top 25 and will be in the tourney, and we lost at Kansas who will make the tournament. We have beat Georgetown and Marquette (who's winning the Big East right now).
This team is getting better and playing alot better defense, once they figure out their identity on offense they'll be ok.
The major problem here is the fans are spoiled. We expect a 30 win season every year and a trip to the Elite 8. Remember where this program was 4 years ago and look where its at now. We lose 4 starters from last years team and we're playing all underclassmen. Sorry to throw mud in your eye but were not Duke, UNC, UCONN, or UCLA. Were an up and coming program who's going to hit many hurdles for the next few years. Stick with Coach Pearl and this program.

No one should be surprised by this but no one should be jumping ship either. This team will finish 21-9, maybe 20-10. With quality wins against Gtown, Marquette, Sienna and a great strength of schedule rating (currently 3), UT (Utex is in Uranus) will have no problem making the NCAA. Perhaps not having to worry about where/how we are seeded will help this team focus.

UT has the nucleus for a really good team. Coach Cal made an adjustment early to move Tyreke Evans to the point. We've been great ever since. Coach Pearl should be able to figure out something to help UT.
You've got one bad loss on your resume (Temple) and two good wins (Georgetown and Marquette). Do your job in the SEC and you'll make the tourney. Otherwise its NIT.

He needs to break these guys down,and get them playing smart and as a team. I only had to deal with one obnoxious UT fan after the game. He told a crowd of UofM supporters to "Enjoy your 8 hour drive back to the ghetto!"
I told him to enjoy his 30 minute walk back to his trailer where he lives with his sister/girlfriend.
All-in-all, most UT fans are ok. I actually have a couple of UT grads that work for me.

Oh, and for every one of you who talks trash about the City of Memphis, there are about 50 Memphians who feel the same about the college town of Knoxville. I'm glad I came from a place where dental care and personal hygiene are a high priority, where there are actually places to take your family and friends when they come to visit, where people with confederate flags on their license plates are ridiculed for being the racists they area, and where international businesses, besides bean companies, are located.
Can't wait to move back and be in a real city again.
Oh, and say what you will about Cal, but he's building a basketball empire in Memphis.
It kills UT fans when Memphis is successful, but you better learn to suck it up Vols because Memphis bball will be in the national spotlight for many years to come.

I don't know about you, but I lived in Memphis most of my life and never lived anywhere near a ghetto. I grew up in East Memphis, in a neighborhood much nicer than most in Knoxville.
Oh, and there are ghettos in Knoxville too. I've seen them. Western Heights, Walter P. Taylor Homes, the entire area near the zoo...and on and on.
And I believe it was the City of Knoxville, not Memphis, that made national news four times this year, and they weren't positive stories.
I agree with you, UT fans have nowhere near the spirit that we U of M fans do. They are ready to throw their coach and team under the bus after every loss.
Oh yeah, I have two UT grads who report to me at work. Funny how that works, with UT supposedly such a better school and all. Here they are reporting to a lowly U of M grad.
