If there’s one thing that new Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin and crew has taught us,it’s that UT's visitors' list will grow. Expect anywhere from four to 10 names to be added to this list by Friday. Here are Tennessee’s confirmed guests this weekend:
Prospect Pos. Size Hometown/School
Orson Charles TE 6-3, 230 Tampa, Fla./Plant
Charles is still considering Southern California, Florida State, Florida and Georgia so UT has an uphill battle. USC has long had a certain allure but Georgia has made a push. Charles will visit Los Angeles on Feb. 6 meaning this one is likely to go past National Signing Day.
Marlon Brown WR 6-5, 205 Memphis/Harding Academy
If you don’t know who Marlon Brown is by now, welcome back from the cave. He’s priority No. 1 for the Vols. Georgia is still lurking and seems to be the team for UT to beat. Florida, Ohio State and Ole Miss are also in the mix.
Marcus Hall OL 6-5, 290 Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville Academic
Most have pegged Hall as an eventual Ohio State commitment. His teammate, UT commitment Mike Edwards, said that’s not the case and that Hall will “shock the world”. We’ll see. Hall has taken official visits to Ohio State, Miami and Michigan.
Eddie Lacy RB 5-11, 210 Dutchtown, La./Geismar
Lacy took an official visit to Alabama last weekend, which sets up an interesting battle between two rivals. Both schools have commitments from top tailbacks. ‘Bama has proximity on its side.
Sam Montgomery DE 6-4, 230 Greenwood (S.C.)
LSU looks like the team to beat. The Tigers led months ago before a defensive coaching change. Now, defensive coordinator John Chavis, a South Carolina native, could help close the deal. It will take a big visit for the Vols to jump into the lead.
Brandon Moore OL 6-5, 315 Montgomery, Ala./Carver
The Vols have some major ground to make up in this one. Alabama, Auburn and Florida have already hosted Moore for official visits. Still, it’s worth a shot and the Vols’ coaches aren’t afraid to take a swing.
Patrick Patterson WR 6-3, 215 Macon, Miss./Noxubee County
A highly rated, undecided wide receiver, Patterson has visited Alabama, Ole Miss and Southern Miss this month. The Vols are determined to land as many top-notch receivers as possible.
Tana Patrick LB 6-3, 215 Stevenson, Ala./North Jackson
Of all the prospects that would anger ‘Bama coach Nick Saban, this would be one of the most infuriating if he decided to go elsewhere. If the Vols can land Patrick, it would rank among the best late pickups in recent memory. Alabama, Auburn and Southern California are in the mix.
Nu’Keese Richardson WR 5-9, 155 Pahokee (Fla.)
Richardson was long thought to be a solid commitment to Florida since May. An official visit to Knoxville makes one wonder, but it will still be tough to flip this shifty speedster. UT is the only school other than Florida where Richardson plans to take an official visit.
Trent Richardson RB 5-11, 210 Pensacola, Fla./Escambia
It’s common thinking that this Richardson will stick with his Alabama commitment. If that doesn’t happen, Florida, Florida State or LSU could be in the mix. The Vols are probably too far from home for Richardson’s tastes.

Montgomery must be a priority. We need defensive lineman. However, any of these guys would be awesome! By the way, has anyone heard Hollins may not make the grades?
yeavols#228407 writes:
WOW..now there's the beef. Hey, if just 1 of them signed..it would be pretty awesome given the fact we started so late. The WIZARD OF VOLS, Kiffin and Co., will come through..
DisorientedVol writes:
Scout.com is reporting Oku withdrew his committment. Richardson would be a nice replacement.
memphis_vol_fan writes:
Does it seem strange to anyone that a long time Florida verbal is visiting the same weekend as Marlon Brown?
(BTW, they were both in Gainesville this past weekend).
StroVol writes:
ugh....yeah?
yeavols#228407 writes:
Recruiting is a dirty business..Urban Meyer probably uses loop holes to get to recruits while of course whining about Tennessee. I'ts business as usual. Now you know why Kiffin doesn't back down from the mouthing of other coaches pretending that they are the victims.
memphis_vol_fan writes:
You sure?
He is still listed as a UT commit.
StroVol writes:
are you serious?
huntined#565710 writes:
Will take any of these..
iwastherein98 writes:
I'm on the opposite side. I'm wondering if maybe Marlon didn't talk Nu'keese into taking a visit to Tenn. That kid has blazing speed and would be a huge pickup.
I hope Marlon keeps recruiting for us if that's what he's doing.
DisorientedVol writes:
Article by Stewart says he is "backing off from his committment" after his Syracuse visit. Hopefully, he doesn't know what he is talking about.
rscook75 writes:
Interesting perspective Memphis Vol. You don't think our boy Urban would...Nah, he wouldn't, would he?
yeavols#228407 writes:
What's the article? I can't find it on Scout. Where's the link?
HtownVol writes:
This is crunch time. This weekend will make a big difference in Lane Kiffins future at UT. If he can secure at least 2 big time WRs, I think that we will have a very good class. We really need playmakers. I hope that these recruits can see how much of a impact that they can have at UT. We are starting fresh. If they want PT. UT is where they need to go. Come on M. Brown, J. Stokes, P. Patterson, D. Oku, UT NEEDS YOU GUYS! Come make a difference. Start something special!
DAWGSSUCK writes:
I can't find it on scout either, still shows him as a soft verbal. Rivals shows him still with us too.

A car sellsman can't sell a car if you don't drive it! Now what kind of car do we have right now? I'm going to say an old corvette waiting to be revived, 427 four in the floor, yea.
DisorientedVol writes:
If yours asking about Oku, the article is titled "Final Visits Loom Large". Sorry, no idea how to give you a link - not that high tech.
KennesawVol writes:
Hey bama 987 - Go home now. Your sister will be calling you and y'alls kids in for dinner soon.
memphis_vol_fan writes:
I hope thats the case. It would mean Marlon is a lock for us.
The Richardson kid is a blazer though. Would like to have him too if possible.
DisorientedVol writes:
I am not but hopefully Stewart is. In his article "Final Visits Loom Large" he states "With David Oku backing off from his commitment to Tennessee after a visit to Syracuse, Richardson is even a higher priority target."
VolGraduate writes:
No one can find anything bc oku never said that. What kind of loser lies on the internet....be must be a midget
memphis_vol_fan writes:
No. No way. Saint Urbie would NEVER do that.
StroVol writes:
Can't be because of Syracuse. What's the draw? 25inches of snow, astro turf in a dome with no heat or air? Football program with storied history. God i'll puke if we lose him to that school.
DAWGSSUCK writes:
Here is the link to the story but I am not a subscriber. Maybe a nice subscriber will post a better link :)

I hope Oku didn't decide to goto Syracuse with our old Ex-RB coach. He did visit as I understand and thats after clearly saying he would not take any more visits.
WTF?

ok..just one question..how did you click on the article if you arn't technically savvy? This is from InsideTennessee which is a subscription from Scout. Just curious.
senracjr writes:
Real close to NSD rumours running rampant.
yeavols#228407 writes:
Ok wait a minute..If the story is valid, Scout would have it on the front pages as well as everyone else. Wouldn't GoVolsExtra have it ( ok, dumb question). Can anyone verify who is a subscriber that Oku decommitted again. This has been going on since September of 2008.
DrJCrown_theMagicMan writes:
I think if Oku does goto Syracuse this will be Drayton's way of getting even with us.
I am not really worried about it though cause we are not hurting for RB's... and besides next year we will just land the top one in the country anyway!
DisorientedVol writes:
Not helpful. This is the copied address but if this is a "link" that everyone can get to, then why am I paying for a subscription? Otherwise, no idea how to help. again, sorry.

I found an article from Syracuse NY that said they were also unable to get any response from Oku.
I wonder if he is waiting it out to see what Richardson does.
DisorientedVol writes:
Excellent point.
utchris writes:
Looks like the KNS got one wrong again....Nu'Keese Richardson is not coming
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/co...
senracjr writes:
I'm not worried, we will have at least 24 commits on NSD...possibly more. We have at least that many with interest in the Vols right now.
cjraney writes:
Good point. I think some of that [spoiler recruiting by another team's committed player] does occur.
But when you're dealing with 17/18 yr old kids you just have to control what you can and not worry about the rest. The kids can feel a coach's confidence and respond to it.
stinky_pinky writes:
anyone see where colonial Bancorp is going down......
i bet that hurts auburn and lowder...tubby's probably lauging his d1ck off right now
Go4Two writes:
Time for this staff to step up and close these kids. This staff is the top recruting staff in the nation (As per the headcoach) what better time to put action behind the words.
yeavols#228407 writes:
Kiffin probably tried to get these last minute visits squeezed in..but Urby found out and rushed right away to their homes to stop the visit..no worries..the kids probably can't wait for this to be over. But we'll see who visits and who doesn't. Of course the kids could be going on the visit and lied to the coaches which would be hystertical.
yeavols#228407 writes:
Did anyone hear anything? Must be the wind again..
TNfaninMS writes:
BAMMER - I personally think you are an idiot, but besides that we will have a pretty strong class by the end of it.
utchris writes:
Maybe not, but I think he is going to still jump ship for LSU. Unless you get Reuben Randle. I think that they end up at the same place.
knoxlawvol writes:
I can't help but think many of these top rated visitors are extreme (bold and underlined) longshots. Their visits seem to be out of curstesy to our staff, who are making a very favorable yet abreviated impression, and for the opportunity to have a fun, paid college weekend. In either event, I think it is very necessary as we are developing some impressive connections and talent pipelines with excellent regions/high school programs. We shouldn't worry because we will have a pretty decent final class with a huge lead into next season for a top class.
Also, I hate Bammers and Gators so much and wish the ones on this board nothing but pure hatred and damnation. Hatehatehatehate
yeavols#228407 writes:
LOL well alrighty then...Knoxlawvol...good points there.
DrJCrown_theMagicMan writes:

***This is kinda funny to me.You know our Gator fans have said they are not worried and Oscar Meyer is not worried about us.I mean we are just the poor little Vols.I am glad no one is worried about us and doesn't give us a chance but you know...What I am reading about Saban and also in this article might indicate otherwise...wouldn't you say!
Usually people say they are worried but deep down they are--LOL!
I hope they are not scared of us though and take us very lightly!
GREATVOLSAFIRE writes:
I hope we could get Montgomery,we haven't had a good rush on the ends in years. Come to UT Sam we need you. GO VOLS
