Eli Manning shoots commercial in Memphis

Brother Peyton is most popular Manning in Memphis poll

MEMPHIS - New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl 42 MVP Eli Manning was at Briarcrest Christian School on Tuesday afternoon to film three TV commercials promoting Reebok’s Speedwick athletic sportswear.

The commercial features Manning and Giants’ wide receiver Domenik Hixon, who last season led the team in receiving yards, pulling pranks on second-year safety Kenny Phillips.

The commercials will begin airing in July, just in time for the start of NFL training camp, said Jonathan Isen, executive producer and managing director with Phasmatrope Studios.

Reebok decided to shoot the commercial in Memphis because of the city's proximity to Manning's off-season home in Oxford, Miss.

What the article doesn't state is Eli got mugged after the commercial filming was over.

Why do so many people complain when SEC new is reported at this site? Isn't it explicitly stated that this is a site for Tennessee AND SEC news?

Seriously, Briarcrest is in the hood. Wouldn't be caught dead in that part of town.

Have you ever even been to Briarcrest? Not only is it in a semi-rural area of Shelby County, as opposed to "the hood" as you would suggest, it has some of the nicest athletic facilities in the country.

UT Medical school happens to have a long and strong prescence in Memphis. There are many positives in Memphis and Shelby County, but most just want to see the negatives. I do not live in or very near Memphis.

At least it wasn't an ad for panties as tebow does those ads.

Millermanz&Tchdwn,

I live near Memphis. If its okay, I'd like to continue to be a fan of "your" team for the 41st consecutive year.
