Swimming: Vols fail to advance at World Games

Ryan Harrison, a redshirted freshman last year at UT, finished 22nd in the 400-meter freestyle at the World University Summer Games in Belgrade, Serbia. Harrison finished in 3 minutes, 57.98 seconds.

Barry Murphy, a senior last year for the Vols, finished 19th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.21, and rising junior Mattias Kahlin was 42nd at 1:05.18. Harrison and Murphy swam for Ireland, while Kahlin competed for Sweden.

Murphy and Harrison were part of the 4x100 freestyle relay team and finished ninth in 3:22.63.

None of the Vols who swam Sunday advanced to the finals.
