Here's a round up of Southeastern Conference news out of the Hoover, Ala., at the annual SEC Media Days.

One of the burning questions yesterday was which coach didn't vote for Tebow for preseason first-team All-SEC quarterback. No coach has fessed up so far.

And so another football season begins with hype, hoopla, optimism and a good dash of controversy.

GoVolsXtra has extensive coverage of Media Days from its staffers, but there a hundreds of sportswriters and bloggers posting pieces. Here's a sampling.

Why is the Tebow vote a mystery?

How stupid is the media?

Houston Nutt has a potential all-SEC QB in Jevan Snead, so why would he vote for Tebow? He wouldn't and he didn't.

End of mystery.

As much as I don't like Tebow, He's one of a kind. Guys like him, that can do what he can and has continued to do for 3 yrs. at Fl, only come around every generation or so. There won't be another quite like him for a long time. There will be good, if not great qb's., maybe even next year, but to have the combined qualities he has is God given talent and just isn't there in 90% of major college qbs. I don't like him, but I'm not supposed to: I'm a Vol Fan!! GO VOLS!!

If you want to point a finger{middle}at the coach with the shadiest past, gotta be Petrino

Since coaches aren't allowed to vote for their own players, it's obvious that it had to be Urban Meyer who didn't vote for Tebow. Why is that so hard for everyone to figure out?

It has alway been my opinion that teams that worry about preseason awards get just what they were seeking - preseason hardware. It simply doesn't matter right now.

Al Davis, huh? Now there's a credible source.

This is without a doubt the most sensitive national championship team in history.

Will the Gators be deeply offended if other teams pull their buses up on gameday this year?
