Tennessee forward J.P. Prince said his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery performed in April is on track.
"We're ahead of schedule,'' Prince said Monday. "I started running a week-and-a-half ago, but no contact until July.''
Prince had a surgical procedure performed April 23 to "tighten up'' his right shoulder for the start of individual workouts in August.
It's the second year in a row Prince has had surgery - last year, it was his left shoulder.
Prince is coming off his most productive season. He averaged 10.1 points per game with 95 assists and committed 64 turnovers.
Prince started 22 of 30 games last season because he was not 100 percent at the start.
"Now I'll be able to rebound the ball with both hands,'' Prince said. "Last year I couldn't really put a lot of pressure on it.''
Prince has been projected to be selected in the second round of the 2010 NBA draft by various Web sites.
"Those boards don't mean anything,'' Prince said. "I was projected at the end of the first round going into my freshman year (at Arizona).
Prince was at Thompson-Boling Arena for the start of the first of many of coach Bruce Pearl's basketball camp sessions.
Other players included incoming freshman Kenny Hall, rising sophomores Scotty Hopson, Renaldo Woolridge, Cameron Tatum and Emmanuel Negedu, junior Brian Williams and seniors Josh Tabb and Bobby Maze.

Those shoulders may be weak but the head seems to be on straight. Hope you can put it all together this year JP.

Looking forward to JP getting healthy and being a force again. I love the drives to the hoop!
Wonder if Calimari will call him PJ Prince again...

Prince has a long way to go. All he can do is drive to the basket. He will never make to the NBA if he doesn't acquire a complete game.

I can't believe that you look forward to watching this kid play. his bone-headed three point shots and bad passes are chemistry killers. i really hope he gets put on the end of the bench until he starts to ONLY do what he does well, drive and defend, and stop doing what he doesn't shoot the three and make "showtime-like" passes

The Love Train rolls on! Vol fans and movie site talkbackers are the most negative people alive. I know I would want to get on that court and play my heart out for such devoted fans. You guys make me sick.

Tyler should just come on back an finish the course. There's lots to learn. IMO, he is not ready for the NBA.

Same holds true for Smith. He has some growing to do.

P.S. Your shift button and exclamation point key seem to be stuck.

I wasn't "discussing" anything with you. I was insulting you and following that up with some irony. Any attempt at conversation with you would be futile because you are the Grand Dragon of "hater" jerks on this message board. I can only hope that your trailer floats away in the next flash flood...a guy can dream, can't he? Schmuck.

*yawn* I see nobody had anything interesting to say in the past few days. I guess I will have to wait until some new "news" breaks.
