Highly-touted quarterback Jake Heaps will apparently commit to BYU today, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The newspaper cited a release by a publicist saying that Heaps had finalized his decision and would make the announcement as early as this afternoon at a yet-to-be-determined location. A source confirmed to the paper that the locale would be somewhere in Provo, possibly near LaVell Edwards Stadium.
Heaps, rated the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the class of 2010, had recently narrowed his choices to a pool of five, including Tennessee.
