Twenty University of Tennessee baseball players are schedule to play in various summer leagues.
Rising juniors Kentrail Davis, P.J. Polk, Cody Hawn and transfer Rob Catapano are on rosters in the Cape Cod League. Davis and Polk, both oufielders, will play for the Falmouth Commodores, Hawn, an infielder and a former South-Doyle High and Walters State standout, joins the Hyannis Mets. Catapano, a former pitcher for Farragut and transfer from North Carolina, will play for the Orleans Firebirds.
Five Vols will also participate in the Coastal Plains League. Rising sophomores Matt Ramsey, a pitcher and Farragut graduate, and Charley Thurber, an outfielder, and senior pitcher Aaron Tullo have earned spots with the Thomasville Hi-Toms, while pitchers Stephen McCray and Will Locante will join the Florence Red Wolves.
Steven Gruver and Clayton Grant, two rising sophomore pitchers, have accepted invitations by the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League.
Rising sophomores Adam Adkins and Mason Forbis, as well as redshirt freshman Hunter Daniel, a former Bearden star, will play in the Valley Baseball League. Adkins joins the Winchester Royals, Forbis will play for the Fauquier Gators and Daniel will play for the Rockbridge Rapids.
Rising sophomore Dylan Hochevar will pitch for the Liberal Beejays of the Jayhawk League, and fellow rising sophomore pitcher Josh Allman is set for the Herndon Braves of the Cal Ripken Senior Collegiate League.
After UT's first session of summer school is finished, Zach Osborne, Matt Hamaker, Cody Grisham and Josh Liles will participate in summer baseball.
Meanwhile, catcher Blake Forsythe is one of 36 collegiate players trying to earn a spot on 22-man roster for the USA Baseball National Team.
The rising junior will be at the team trials June 15-24 in Cary, N.C.
