Tennessee redshirt freshman men's basketball player Phillip Jurick is expected to transfer out of UT in the coming weeks, according to a source close to the program.
Jurick, a 6-foot-10 post from East Ridge High School, is not currently enrolled in classes at UT and was not among the Vols' players made available for selection at the Pilot Rocky Top League draft Wednesday night.
UT coach Bruce Pearl could not be reached for comment, but Pearl said in past interviews there was a chance Jurick could elect to transfer because he was not happy with his playing opportunities.
Jurick's decision alleviates a potential issue should rising senior Tyler Smith elect to return for his final year of eligibility. UT lost a scholarship for the coming season as a result of its APR rating.
