The Cincinnati Reds have placed right-hander and former University of Tennessee standout Mike Lincoln on the 15-day disabled list with a bulging disc in his neck.
The 34-year-old Lincoln was 1-1 with an 8.22 ERA in 19 appearances for the Reds this season. He was 2-5 with a 4.48 ERA in 64 games last season, his first after missing three seasons while recovering from ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow.
His move to the DL was retroactive to Saturday.

I knew something was wrong with him. He would come into games and get hammered. He actually pitched well for the Reds last season. The Reds had no choice but to put him on the DL. I would say that he is probably done for the year in the bigs. He will probably be sent to the Dragons for the remainder of the year or given an unconditional release. With the way the Reds are hitting, they cannot afford to give up any runs. I hope he can come back from this, but I saw this coming. I am a diehard Reds fan. I follow them very closely. His effort was always there, but the injuries have gotten in the way. GO VOLS!!!
