Maryville High School distance runner Jordan Chaney, a Tennessee signee, was honored as the Gatorade Tennessee boys track and field athlete of the year, the company announced Tuesday.
The senior won the 1600-meter run at the state Class AAA championship in a time of 4 minutes, 13.19 seconds. He finished second in the 800 meters in 1:51.93. He is the school record-holder in both events.
