Two-time Olympian Anthony Famiglietti headlines a group of five former University of Tennessee athletes at the USA Outdoor Championships this week in Eugene, Ore.
The versatile Famiglietti, who lives in Knoxville, qualified for the meet in the steeplechase, 5,000 and 10,000, but will concentrate on his Olympic event, the steeplechase.
Sprinter Rubin Williams competes in the 100-meter dash and 200.
In field events, Garland Porter is in the hammer throw, Akeem Hardnett the triple jump and Nick Panezich the shot put.
The goal is to make the USA team for the IAAF World Championships, held in Berlin in August.
ESPN has coverage Friday 8-10 p.m. and Saturday 7:30-9:30 p.m. NBC takes over the coverage Sunday 4-6 p.m.

I believe Fam is running the 5k, not the Steeplechase. Only second time he has run an event other than the Steeplechase at a US Championships (ran the 10,000m in 2006). He has the fastest time in the country and should be a favorite to make the team.
He is still coached by George Watts.
