Go VOLS!

If the season ended right now, they would be in. Lose the rest of the games, and your RPI, the best argument you have to get in, suddenly jumps off a cliff. Gotta win a couple more.

I think they punched their ticket Sunday. GO VOLS!

They are in. How they do the rest of the way is for seeding.

Shouldnt it say how many more games should UT win?? I think we have to win 1 out of our last 2. Then even if we get knocked out in the 1st round of the sec we are in. If we lose the last 2 we will have to win 1 maybe 2 in the sec to make it. I hope this team plays to their ability next year! ALL YEAR

they need one more.
they need 10 conference wins. can come in the next two or come in the SEC tourney.
the OOC schedule is so impressive that tennessee should be rewarded just for that.

I know an easy way to pick up 5 to 10 points a game. LEARN TO SHOOT FREE THROWS. I go nuts watching other teams shoot 80% and our guys get 1 of 2. They are FREE guys. TAKE EM!!!!!
chad_t31 writes:
I don't think they need any more. Tied for first in the east with two to go. Florida won't pass them. Is Florida in?

DANG lol awesome post man

They're in....what BP should do now is post a HUGE poster of BOISE, ID in winter in the locker room. THAT should be enough to motivate them to keep winning because THAT is where they could end up if they don't get a decent seed!
99gator writes:
heck no, florida's not in.
they do a have a legit OOC win against washington (pac 10 champ), but the florida OOC schedule is utter and complete garbage. they could scrimmage the best basketball players off of the football team and get a better game.
they need at least 2 more. they are at miss state and have ky at home. personally, i think they will lose both.
but, they need to either split those and win one in the SEC tourney and pray (paying off the selection committee would help).....or win the last two and finish the season with a 10-6 conference record.
the most likely scenario that i think exists for them now, is spliting the last two and winning 2 in the SEC tourney (still not likely)
they're just not good.
i picked tennessee to beat florida twice as soon as i saw what this team looked like in december.

I've been worried awhile, but I feel pretty good now, at 18-10, w/the #2 strength of schedule, even if they lose the next two, and lose first game of tourney, I think they still get in, I hope that doesn't happen though. This team having so many young players will be better prepared for the tourney now after playing the schedule they have, they could have alot better record with an easier schedule, but I'd rather have a 10-12 loss team battle tested than a 6-7 loss team thats young, and unbattle-tested..they may suprise us in the tourney, they seem to be getting it together aliitle towards the end of the season..maybe a sweet-16 again.

FWIW, Lunardi's latest bracketology has us as a #7 seed in the east ... with a bullet. Only 4 SEC teams -- LSU, USCar, UT, and UK.
bud0323 writes:
I say three more beat South Carolina you're SEC East champions then win against Alabama because we don't want any losses against non-tournament teams and win one in the SEC Tournament and we'll be locked for most likely a 5 seed.

Here's my stance on this.... we can lose two games, but still make it in. If we lose 3, we're out.
So basically.... if we win one of the next two, I think we are in regardless because our record is 19-12 and our RPI and SOS are plenty strong enough to get in, plus we have some big wins. If we lose the next two, I really think our only "in" would be to win the SEC tournament. Kind of odd reasoning, but I think the magic point for us is no more than 12 losses, I just don't see them making any room for a 13 loss team, even if we were to lose that 13th game in the SEC Tournament Finals.
Stokes44yrs writes:
Honestly I'd be surprised if we got in with any more losses.
We should, but this year especially you have a lot of teams that may get a shot. Probably most of the ACC should get in. Big East? Teams like Notre Dame, Davidson if they lose SC tournanment. CUSA may see a few teams go?!!! It's possible. I not trying to be negative and our RPI should get us in but I don't trust the voters where the SEC is concerned.
johnlg00#206211 writes:
Good one, TV! You're right; it's all about seeding now. The Selection Committee looks hard at how a team does in its last 12 games. We need every one we can get the rest of the way.
johnlg00#206211 writes:
It's not so much a matter of the 10 losses as it is that three of those were to Temple, Auburn, and Ole Miss, though Auburn has been better lately. Those teams are NOT part of the reason why our schedule was so tough. In fact, I still have trouble believing our SOS is so high, given the relative weakness of the SEC, and we only have what I would call one and a half quality wins out of conference.
johnlg00#206211 writes:
Not sure I agree with you about the ACC. UNC, Duke, Wake, and Clemson are all shoo-ins but then you have a BUNCH of teams clustered pretty tightly a couple of games behind them. The ACC will likely manage one more behind the Big Four, but that is about as deep as they will go, IMHO. Even as tough as the Big East is, I doubt any team with a losing conference record will get in. I certainly don't want to go through the whole country, but this year could have more surprise entries than usual.
Stokes44yrs writes:
You're right John but I'm still nervous. SEC will probably get 4 in but I'm not sure.
Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Kentucky or ? I don't know. It's hard to believe that Kentucky might not get in. S. Car. should...? I mean Who do you think is better Ga. Tech or Georgia? SEC to the voters at least don't compare to the ACC. And who would you pick between a S. Car. and say a Boston College or an Arizona State? Kentucky or Florida State? which Kentucky team would show up?
Stokes44yrs writes:
I meant Kentucky or a Maryland but I guess Fla St. would do.
Stokes44yrs writes:
Actually John 9 ACC teams have as good a record as Tennessee and one (tho I wouldn't agree) could argue that their strength of schedule is as good. They do most all play Duke and N. Car.. I'd even say Boston college was better than Georgetown or even maybe Texas or UCLA this year. I'd probably be wrong.
My point is The ACC is highly admired by voters where the SEC is not. I do think because of fan support that UT, Kentucky, Florida, and S. carolina will get in...besides LSU. I hope.

I hope this team plays to their ability this year. Too early to clean out the lockers.

Florida needs to beat UK and MSU or make an SEC Tourney run. RPI at 101 is not persuasive.
