Tennessee junior quarterback Nick Stephens is out of action for three to four weeks with a wrist fracture.

Stephens is expected to miss approximately half of spring practice, which begins Tuesday.

It is unclear how the injury occurred. It is thought that Stephens injured his right, throwing wrist.

Stephens is competing with senior Jonathan Crompton and sophomore B.J. Coleman for playing time this fall.

Stephens was UT’s highest-rated passer last season, completing 63 of 130 passes for 840 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw four interceptions.

The Vols will have non-contact practices Tuesday and Thursday. Tennessee’s first contact practice will be Friday and is open to the public.

This just paves the way for Corky Crompton!

And why was it that Rural didn't want to sign a qb this year?

Do you understand what 3 or 4 weeks mean.Fractures have many degrees of severity

Crompton broke it at a party so he would have less competition :) (just a joke not serious)

It was said to have been arranged by Tonya Harding as a favor to Jonathan Crompton. Is this true?

I smell another "self-reported" violation coming on.

Do you think Kiffin is smart enough to keep his qb from participating in activities that will break a kids wrist?

I bet he had moved Stephens to TE because he was short at that position. Remember, Kiffin moved his other TE's to cornerback, punter and center respectively.

Dream on you gator fan.

MikeTheVol writes:

He threw his helmet after an interception in practice. It bounced off the wall and came back and broke his wrist. Kind of like in the Wyoming game.

Between lil-Lane and Orgeron, heck no..I would expect they are having them practice in the dark.

He has mouthed off so much he has to get a head start on finding receivers who can catch balls off of their shoe-laces.

Obama needs to bail out the gators. Apparently, they've run out of money and can't afford their very own website. They just impose on others . . . kind of like socialists!

As far as I know, players can practice 24 hrs per day 365 days a year as long as no coaches are present. In fact, all of the QBs and WRs will practice all summer. I hope he did hurt it practicing, and I hope he wasn't alone when he did it.

Gatorzz and DC.... another day of sitting around getting fatter I see. You guys are worthless human beings. You offer nothing to society other than to troll on the internet. It's truly sad.

OM, they're pathetic attention wh_res. Their families don't care enough about them to pay them any attention, so they come on here to "enlighten" us and get a response. It makes them feel important and relevant. These are the kind of guys/girls that are laughed at by their own fellow fans. I know this because I showed this site to a couple of gator fans at work. Their response to their postings were laughter first, then disbelief in their pathetic lives.

It does seem kind of odd they don't report the cause. Anyway, I don't think this is a bad thing as Crompton had the potential. Fulmer took him out without giving him enough of a chance. With some experience, he could be a good quarterback as can Coleman. I think Stephens was the worst of the three.

If you are a dooshbag...any one of you gayter posters...you will prove it by making a comment about tbis post. Right dooshbags? Oh...about the spelling? It won't allow it correctly.

How old are you? Surely pretty young considering the immaturity shown in most of your comments.

This means more reps for Coleman and Crompton, which means a faster evaluation from the staff, one of these guys will eliminate himself and when Nick gets back he will get his shot with the one left standing of spring practice.

Why wouldn't they release how he broke his wrist, unless they are trying to "get the story straight"? Keeping this story in the dark will generate all kinds of speculation.

Just ignore this guy's neagtive posts and he will go away. He just posts to get everyone stired up.

Are you a big football fan? WTF are you talking about? Did you watch the games last year? Fulmer gave JC TOO much of a chance. He should have been yanked after three, maybe two games. Stephens was THE BEST QB UT had last year. JC was probably the 3rd best. We didn't get to see much of Coleman, but he was still probably second best.

I thought that they all stunk. The best of three bad quarterbacks isn't much to brag about. Our only hope is we didn't see much of Coleman so maybe's he's better than people think. Or, our coaches can teach one of them how to be a quarterback. O&W game should be interesting.

I'm a CPF fan but I definitely want CLK to succeed. Simply put, I'm a VOL fan whoever is coaching. It was a pathetic display of football last year and the head coach must take the blame. True, CLK has shot his mouth off a little but from the more you dig on Urban Meyer he is definitely no saint when it comes to recruiting. I will give him credit turning Florida from a very good team to the best in college football. Hope we can beat those guys soon because few can right now. After Tebow we have a window where they may be down offensively and vulnerable to some losses.

Ask Mike Hamilton how a fractured wrist happens during "conditioning drills." Ask Brad and Kevin, while you're at it.

Whoops. None of those 3 guys every wore a jockstrap, so the wool might be easily pulled over those 6 eyes.

I guess Black Iron will have to explain it.

Or David Reaves. Check the video.

A FOIA request, combined with sworn statements, would be at least embarrassing, guys. It could be a lot worse. Quit requiring the kids to lie. It will catch up with you.

Karma can be a b1tch.

Nick breaking his wrist is going to start the types of questions I warned you about.

Seriously - I 2nd that motion. And let's start with the biggest interloper - Gatorzz. If it's not bad enough he violates the KNS rules, he can't even man up when he's called on the carpet (by an out of state vol fan) on these threads. It's one thing to give and take smack, but when people give it and can't take it they need to be e-neutered.
