Nick Stephens fractures wrist

Tennessee junior quarterback Nick Stephens is out of action for three to four weeks with a wrist fracture.

Stephens is expected to miss approximately half of spring practice, which begins Tuesday.

It is unclear how the injury occurred. It is thought that Stephens injured his right, throwing wrist.

Stephens is competing with senior Jonathan Crompton and sophomore B.J. Coleman for playing time this fall.

Stephens was UT’s highest-rated passer last season, completing 63 of 130 passes for 840 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw four interceptions.

The Vols will have non-contact practices Tuesday and Thursday. Tennessee’s first contact practice will be Friday and is open to the public.

Is the cause of the injury unknown or undisclosed?

Do you understand what 3 or 4 weeks mean.Fractures have many degrees of severity

GatorHater326 writes:

Crompton broke it at a party so he would have less competition :) (just a joke not serious)

It was said to have been arranged by Tonya Harding as a favor to Jonathan Crompton. Is this true?

He threw his helmet after an interception in practice. It bounced off the wall and came back and broke his wrist. Kind of like in the Wyoming game.

Obama needs to bail out the gators. Apparently, they've run out of money and can't afford their very own website. They just impose on others . . . kind of like socialists!

As far as I know, players can practice 24 hrs per day 365 days a year as long as no coaches are present. In fact, all of the QBs and WRs will practice all summer. I hope he did hurt it practicing, and I hope he wasn't alone when he did it.

My guess is he fractured it by getting mad and hitting a wall or door or something.

It does seem kind of odd they don't report the cause. Anyway, I don't think this is a bad thing as Crompton had the potential. Fulmer took him out without giving him enough of a chance. With some experience, he could be a good quarterback as can Coleman. I think Stephens was the worst of the three.

It is beyond bizarre how many gayter posters come here every day...every hour of the day...Florida is working hard to pass Dawg fans as the biggest dooshbags that ever lived. I used the term, "lived" in sarcasm. What kind of life can a dooshbag like that have if all they do is pleasure themselves everyday by acting obnoxious in someone else's house? If you are a dooshbag...any one of you gayter posters...you will prove it by making a comment about tbis post. Right dooshbags? Oh...about the spelling? It won't allow it correctly.

How old are you? Surely pretty young considering the immaturity shown in most of your comments.

GahLee writes:

This means more reps for Coleman and Crompton, which means a faster evaluation from the staff, one of these guys will eliminate himself and when Nick gets back he will get his shot with the one left standing of spring practice.

I thought that they all stunk. The best of three bad quarterbacks isn't much to brag about. Our only hope is we didn't see much of Coleman so maybe's he's better than people think. Or, our coaches can teach one of them how to be a quarterback. O&W game should be interesting.

They come on here because they have been banned from their own UF site. I understand it had something to do with pictures of them with their goats.

He'll be fine come Sept.. If not, he'll wear the thing that Ainge had to wear.

I look for Stephens to have a new attitude this year. He has had to learn the hard way. BJ will shine and JC will be more consistent.

Gotta be positive guys to keep from going crazy like last year.

I'm a CPF fan but I definitely want CLK to succeed. Simply put, I'm a VOL fan whoever is coaching. It was a pathetic display of football last year and the head coach must take the blame. True, CLK has shot his mouth off a little but from the more you dig on Urban Meyer he is definitely no saint when it comes to recruiting. I will give him credit turning Florida from a very good team to the best in college football. Hope we can beat those guys soon because few can right now. After Tebow we have a window where they may be down offensively and vulnerable to some losses.

This was posted on another thread as well. I think it's time to block the IP addresses of these trolls. Decent Tennessee sports discussion has taken a backseat. One poster has even gone as far as to slander a person with Down Syndrome. Your own rules state, "You agree not to post comments that are off topic, defamatory, obscene, abusive, threatening or an invasion of privacy. Violators may be banned." START DOING SOME FREAKING BANNING!
