NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have signed a multiyear contract with Carolina return specialist Mark Jones.
The Titans picked up the free agent and former University of Tennessee receiver Wednesday after losing cornerback Chris Carr, who signed with Baltimore.
The Titans were the first in the league with average yards per kickoff return and Jones averaged 24 yards last year, the best by a Panthers returner since 2001.
Jones, a five-year NFL veteran, had the NFC’s third best punt return average and the league’s seventh best with 11.4-yards in 2008.
The team did not disclose the details of the agreement.

Good to see Mark Jones back in Tennessee. I wouldn't be surprised either if the Titans do get Robert Ayers, he would be a good replacement once when Jevon Kearse retires or is gone.

Carr went to the Ravens b/c they guaranteed him a nickleback position. He would never see the secondary in LP field unless there was an injury. Vincent Fuller's re-signing meant Carr was definitely out.

One more thing, I saw LenDale, Vince, Fuller, and Ahmad Hall at Rotier's on Monday. Everybody was gracious and talking to fans. All except VY, who was kind of acting like a kid who had his lunch $ stolen. I don't see him ever starting for the Titans' again, but time will tell.
