Do we know why he died?

This story came as the product of some extensive Web research, by me, yesterday morning. Once I figured out Benson was near Peoria, the rest was simple. In response to jmr68ut, we don't know how (or why) he died, probably will never know. That shouldn't reflect at all on who Don was.

I'm proud of my Web story on Don from Thursday afternoon http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2009/m.... This has been quite an experience.

Tom,

Good article and a good post. Don was a great guy, I had one class with him, I am thinking fall of 1969. I know it was before the SC game. He was a truly nice guy. Good job. I wish the best for his family in this time of grief.

The imperative "Go to hell" is so much a part of the fabric of life that is is often used without thinking or as a substitute for otherwise rational discourse. We're all adults here, right? Let's try for a little more substantive discussion. We are talking about a man's life and influence here. Just a thought.
