Tennessee cornerback Brent Vinson will undergo surgery to repair his ailing left shoulder after the conclusion of spring practice next month.
The junior should be ready by fall and can still participate in the remaining two weeks of spring drills, although he could be somewhat limited.
Vinson suffered a shoulder separation on March 14. The joint has been an issue for quite some time, often causing Vinson to pull himself out of practice.

this guy has had a lot of shoulder issues during his time here. i have to say that this says something about his toughness, that he's willing to stick his head in there and put the hit on people even when he knows it has a chance of popping out anytime. i really like the way he plays. to have that many problems, and to keep hitting people without hesitation takes a set of balls, no matter who you are.

"The junior should be ready by fall" If it's in question if he can be ready in time for the regular season, why doesn't he shut it down now and have surgery to give him the extra two weeks to rehab? Seems like a better idea to me.

Vinson has had a enough trouble just staying in school. I don't think he can make it through a redshirt plus two additional years.

Remarkably free of injuries for such a physical spring so far. Hopefully it stays that way. The S&C program is certainly a part of that.
