Brooks officially named defensive line coach at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson has hired longtime Tennessee assistant Dan Brooks as defensive line coach.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney announced the hire Monday. Brooks replaces David Blackwell, who was named a defensive coordinator at South Florida earlier this month.

Brooks has spent 27 of his 34 years in the business as a college coach. He spent 15 years with the Vols and was part of Phillip Fulmer’s 1998 staff that won a national championship with a 13-0 record.

Brooks also served as Tennessee’s recruiting coordinator from 1999-2002. Before coming to the Vols, Brooks coached at North Carolina and Florida.

I agree F.F. I think the D line looked like they were doing the Tennesse Waltz instead of pass rushing the past few years. Does 3rd and 13 = 1st down ring a bell?
