George Cafego, a 5-foot-10, 169-pound All-American quarterback for the Vols. The West Virginia native was a 1969 College Football Hall of Fame inductee and an assistant coach for Tennessee for 30 years. He died at age 82 on Feb. 9, 1998 in Knoxville.

Tennessee's Haskel Stanback runs against Vanderbilt tacklers Mark Llewellyn and Mike Kirk on Dec. 2, 1972 at Dudley Field in Nashville, Tenn. Stanback's 143 yards rushing in the game gave him 890 for the year, surpassing the UT single season record set in 1951 by Hank Lauricella. The Vols won 30-10.

11/17/1962 - Tennessee's John Bill Hudson catches a touchdown pass from Bobby Morton against Ole Miss on Nov. 17, 1962 at Neyland Stadium. The play triggered a bench-clearing brawl that was witnessed by 37,166 "well-watered fans" according to a News Sentinel story. The Rebel defender is Louis Guy, who earlier in the game had a 103-yard interception return for a touchdown. Ole Miss spoiled the Vols' homecoming with a 19-6 win.

Tennessee and Vanderbilt players brawl as the Vols beat Vandy 14-0 at Shields-Watkins Field in Nov. 1963. The game is famous for being being the last in which Tennessee ran the single-wing offense, a staple since Robert Neyland became head coach in 1926. Among the Tennessee players are Mallon Faircloth (43) and Billy Tomlinson (15).
