Chizik says McKenzie rejoins Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn coach Gene Chizik said senior tight end Gabe McKenzie has returned to the program.

McKenzie missed most of spring practice with undisclosed health issues. He played both tight end and defensive end last season.

Chizik said receiver Montez Billings is still working through some academic issues that kept him out of the spring. He didn’t elaborate on what the issue is for Billings, who graduated earlier this month.

At least three scholarship newcomers were on campus for the start of summer classes Thursday. They were defensive lineman Nick Fairley, receiver DeAngelo Benton and tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen.

What does this have to do with UT??

This story is under SEC news. We play Auburn Oct. 3. I think those two things make it at least somewhat pertinent to UT and worthy of the space.

Besides, it's not like the KNS is going to run out of space on the internet.
