Tennessee and Torrian Wilson seem like a perfect match.

The Vols are looking for offensive linemen who can make an impact during the 2010 season.

Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound offensive lineman from Northwestern High in Miami, is looking for a school that has an opportunity for early playing time.

"That's very important," Wilson said. "I want to go somewhere I know I'm going to start as a freshman or have a good chance of starting as a freshman."

Wilson believes he has a good chance to do that at UT.

Wilson realized as much while studying the Vols' depth chart with running backs coach Gran, who is recruiting Wilson.

"He showed me the offensive line and showed me the new players they got this year," Wilson said. "That's really looking good on my part."

The Vols are looking good in the battle to land Wilson. He said his top five schools are UT, Alabama, Miami, Michigan and Stanford. All five school have offered Wilson a scholarship.

Miami has its obvious advantages.

Wilson said he constantly hears from Hurricane fans hoping he'll choose the hometown school.

"It's crazy because you don't want to disappoint anyone but you know you have to make that decision for yourself," he said.

Wilson still has people on his side. He said his parents often encourage him to make his own decision.

"They both just tell me not to worry about it," Wilson said. "They say, 'You just have to do what you have to do.' "

Michigan is an intriguing team to watch with Wilson, who said he grew up rooting for the Wolverines.

Wilson, who took an unofficial visit to Michigan for the Wolverines' spring game last month, said he likes Michigan's physical style of play.

"I liked (former Michigan tackle) Jake Long and liked watching the offensive line go after the defensive line every play," Wilson said.

Wilson said he plans to visit schools on his list this summer but has yet to finalize any plans.
