Former Tennessee cornerback/safety Jonathan Hefney signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League on Thursday.
'He was very impressive in our Florida mini camp, and I'd like to see more of the skills he displayed there in our training camp,' Winnipeg head coach Mike Kelly said in a release.
Hefney joins Xavier Mitchell, who signed with Vancouver's B.C. Lions as former Vols headed to the CFL.
Former UT players Jonathan Brown and Jeremaine Copeland play for the Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders, respectively.

I wonder if Tennessee has more players in the CFL than any other school?

Hefney had a major drop after his jr. year. I have never witness such on the field breakdown like I did with him. Good luck Hefney. May your talent return and you get back to being a great player.

I know that Jermaine is loving it up there! Hope Hefney does as well. Haven't been able to get up there but hope to one day to see my family play

Hefney pulled a Jamal Lewis, he played to not get hurt so he could go to the NFL. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't as good as he thought he was. Another case of probably someone in his ear telling him everything he wanted to hear

Most people seem to forget that Hefney was asked to be mentor and on field coach for EB. His draft shot got hurt but look at what he did. Larry Slade is the guy to blame for Hefney not being in the NFL. Anyone would look pale next to EB. Scouts just overlooked his play because their eyes couldn't stop looking at Eric. Good luck JH! You will one day make a hell of a secondary coach.

What is your point?

I would echo much of this. For whatever reason, as a senior, he wasn't half the player he was as a junior.
Can't figure that out. Same coach, same scheme, completely different level of play. Odd.
Also agree with the wish-well: go for it Jonathan, be happy you're playing but do NOT be content with the CFL.
You're always a Vol.

I wish him well. Hopefully he will "wrap up" when he makes a tackle, instead of hoping that a shoulder bump will knock the guy down.
