UT basketball player Wayne Chism
Tennessee junior basketball player Wayne Chism decided to share a slice of his life with fans via YouTube, but by Friday morning he was taking down the Internet videos.
“I didn't ever think anyone would go snitch on me like that,'' Chism said in the final video posted on YouTube. “I need to stop making videos because I didn't think anybody would call the University of Tennessee basketball office and talk about, `He (Chism) is cussing a lot on YouTube.' ''
Chism indicated UT asked him to take down the two dozen or so videos he made.
Chism appeared in the various videos with an unidentified white male. The name of a business was mentioned, opening up the possibility of secondary violation, as collegiate athletes are not allowed to endorse businesses, however unintended.
A University of Tennessee spokesman confirmed the school is aware of the videos and is checking into the particulars.
Chism cursed as he made jokes about every day life in some of t he videos. He also made a self-deprecating joke about the difference between a white man and black man running through a neighborhood as he worked out on an elliptical trainer.
There were other videos of Chism riding a four-wheeler, slinging tires, riding and jumping a bike at a skate park, playing a game with the unidentified white male's son and eating wings.
“To the people who liked the videos we appreciate you watching,'' Chism said. “You'll look on Facebook and YouTube and see all the videos gone.
“The people that called and snitched on me, not cool. But I guess I appreciate that because they said they don't want to make my image bad.''
Chism said he made the videos because he was bored, and he said he was helping out a friend at the tire-related workplace because he wanted to get away from basketball for a while.

Snitchin.....maybe somebody cared about the University's image being tarnished by immature behavior. So he needs to remember that whether he likes it or not he represents the University of Tennessee wherever he goes or whatever he does.

Wow! As if the last year for UT sports hasn't been embarrassing enough. I'm not at all offended by what is on the videos or even the cussing, but c'mon...now we might be looking at a secondary violation!?!?! Every time you turn around the next headline is about Tennessee reporting a violation whether it's football or basketball...we have truly become a lightning rod and while it's great that people are talking about the Vols when they normally might not be, the good news and good press isn't near as common as the bad press we have been getting...

Although this isn't a huge deal, Wayne should use better judgment. Cursing around friends and others you know is one thing, but broadcasting it over the web is pretty dumb. I don't want to see our players cursing during a tv interview, or in any other public forum. He needs to realize that he represents UT.
