NASHVILLE — Vanderbilt has lost starting quarterback Larry Smith for the final three games with a partially torn left hamstring. Now Mackenzi Adams will make his first start of the season Saturday night against top-ranked Florida.
Coach Bobby Johnson said Monday that an MRI revealed some tearing in Smith’s hamstring. Smith pulled up at the end of a 35-yard run in last weekend’s 56-31 loss to No. 10 Georgia Tech. Johnson says Smith would be out at least four weeks, and Vanderbilt (2-7, 0-5 Southeastern Conference) wraps up the season Nov. 21 against Tennessee.
Adams replaced Smith and was 12 of 22 for 152 yards to finish the game. This will be the redshirt senior’s first start in a year since he started against Florida in a 42-14 loss.

Well maybe the backup will get some decent reps in before the eye-gouging Captain Insano gets back from his hefty half-game suspension, and tries to maim another student-athlete in the name of Saint Urban. POS!

I agree with you. SEC or NCAA need to dismiss Spikes. Even the Oregon player who Cold Cocked the guy in the heat of a very emotional moment/loss was sent down the road!
Spikes attacked a defenseless player in a game that was over before it ever started. If they don't get Spikes out of the SEC, don't be surprised if he himself is not the victim of some intense physical attention resulting in injury.

Already happened he got kicked, eye gouged, spit on, helmet ripped off, all before he did what he did, which he should not have done but I guess at some point you just get enough of it and want payback. I have never heard anybody before this game claim Spikes is a dirty player and I dont think it will happen again. Unlike the Oregon player Spikes did not attack his team mates and fans in the stands also the Oregon player had attacked one of his team mates in practice over the summer. He has a record of doing this type of thing were Spikes does not that is the difference. Spikes is a good kid who deserves a second chance you dont just throw them away you try to help them to become a better person. I believe the Vols have a young man on their team who is getting a second chance because someone forgave him.
